Post by Rodion »

THE Clueless manages to win an away battle against the Guerilla Gorillas! It's 5-2 with 2 more games to go! =D>

Week 2

Tonka's Truck Co vs. Bacon-ators
Whedon's Warriors vs. THE Cluless
Blood Farmers vs. Saxy's United
Guerrila Gorillas vs. Johto Mafia

All 8 teams can already start sending me formations. Home teams (on the left) can also send the maps. There is no deadline for now, but the sooner you get this ready, the better.

I bet you Fircoal doesn't have the cajones to do all random like the Gorillas did in their first home games :P Do you Fircoal?

The Gorillas are at home, so Fircoal has no choice (he'll have it in week 9).

You're getting 7 home and 7 away games over the course of the season, but I don't think it's posible for every team to alternate perfectly.

I just went through games of the tournament and one thing surprised me, some teams picked all 3 home maps the same, I thought it was obligation to choose 3 different maps for home set per a team.

if that is allowed then I really regret for it, just because playing 3 different maps is more fun than playing the same map/settings 3 times in a row. also, home team already has huge advantage by choosing all 9 games. if a team has great specialist for some map and they play it 3 times then the home advantage becomes bigger with that.

I hope managers wil agree that 3 different maps per a home set would very increase level of fun in this tournament. if someone do not agree please tell me so my team will choose 3 hive/no spoils/unlimited/fog triples when playing vs that team. ;)

Ohhhh, hive! :D

I think it will vary week to week, depending on the teams you're facing, what week it is for you, and the players you have currently.

Some have played together, others havent, etc so sometimes there's only one or two choices for common maps and only one of those is good for their group. (dub trip quad etc).

I agree 3 makes more interesting and fun, but sometimes you gotta test the waters slowly especially if ur first home games etc.

Hopefully everyone will have enough fun that you won't need to do hive maps...tho I know sum who think that'd be fun ;)

I hate people who pick Hive.

For Me I'll probably never go 3-0. Sometimes 2-1. 3 on the same map seems boring to me too.

I think Rodion might be upset about the delay to the tournament if someone picked 9 hive games ;)

yes probably, and to avoid situations like that and to increase total level of fun in the tournament, I suggest to make it rule to be 3 different maps per home set picked from home team.

I gave hive only like example, but it can be picked any map that someone hate so then he/she will not have any fun when have to play it 3 times in a row.

Are you changing this officially? I prefer to leave it to the managers but as long as I know...

I have these, but until I hear back about the rule change I can't send it. As it affects set ups & pairs etc and now maps too.

You know... That's probably not a bad idea for the next round. I'll definitely talk with Saxlad.
But... It was so artistically done.

I'm not changing the rules midgame unless I absolutely have to, unless we get unanimous votes from the managers.

Consider you can repeat maps and send them to me!

PS - one thing to consider, week 1 games haven't ended yet. Some aren't close to ending. Some managers may be waiting to see how that map(s) did week 1 before they consider using it again in future weeks.

On the results front...judging from the concession of good game from hook, the incredible territory count advantage, and a scalp made last round...I believe it is safe to say that the Bacon-ators have sealed up their 5th win of round one. Everyone i've been in contact has commented on how tough the games were with the W. Warriors...great first round match up guys.
