World World War II
a world map of world war II
Problem with that is a huge amount of empty space. WWII was basicly two huge areas of battle on exact opposite sides of the world. Possibly a WWII Pacific map would be good which was similar to qwert's WWII Europe, but putting them both together would be nigh on impossible.
well lets see, the war was fought in:
europe, most of asia, northern africa, pearl harbor (couldnt resist adding that in

) america could be a bombard, the phillipines, etc etc etc......
The war was faught
by those places, But if you look at where the fighting took place, its two comparitivly small areas in Europe/north africa and east asia.
WWI is an interesting idea, I'd like to see it tried but unfortunatly it would take a good bit of thinking how to do it as the front line barely moved throughout the entire war, it was just which nation ran out of men and rescouces first. Although that could be an interesting map.

Don't know if someone has had this idea before or not:
King Kong's Skull Island for a map. Could have the freighter that captures him as well as maybe New York and areas there (the theatre, Empire State Building).
Feel free to run with anyone who wants to.

lets think of places where it was fought
some in the ocean water wateva
france
germany
russia (some of it)
italy
north africa
china
japan
phillipines
canada did enter the war
america bombarded japan
(nothing was fought in N.A but still, like canada could be a cross between from Europe to Asia real fast)
Didnt germany take that place where the first part sounds like chuckle? zuckleslavakia or something?
and more

Exactly, so much happens in two comparetivly small areas, Qwert cant fit the european theater in to a map, let alone the world with huge amounts of dead space.

I have been thinking that we severely lack a WWI map lately...
I think a decay on the fronts would be in order. And it should probably just be Europe, geographically.

You could make a good map of a section of the Front line, Ypres mabye?

I don't want to make it, I got enough to do at the moment.

Paramount Studios

I live and work in Los Angeles as a grip on movies and TV shows. I would love to see a map based on Paramount studios, the 50 acre complex of huge soundstages, offices and suites, and scenic backlot. I'm going to make a physical board for this, but if anyone is interested in making a CC map, it would be pretty awesome...
another good contender is Sony Studios (the former MGM lot). It is a comparable size but has a triangular shape. anyway, if any of you highly skilled cartographers are interested, let me know...

I could see a studio map working out, that'd be pretty cool, all sorts of stuff you could do with that

ok i figured out how to do this! we could have little zoomed in areas (like that railroad usa map) for places like Pearl Harbor, Japan, Germany, etc etc.
USA could also be a territory, and like it could bombard all zoomed in japan territories, and the main japan territory could bombard all zoomed in pearl harbor area
Ali Vs. Frazier

I posted this in the wrong thread, my apologies...
I have an idea for a new style map intended solely for 1 vs 1 play. The theme would be a boxing ring where each player starts pretty strongly in his own corner of the ring. All other territories are neutral (like Feudal War). The goal is to take over the other player's corner for a KO, or reach some dominant position for a certain number of rounds for a TKO.
The ring itself is divided into regions for the players to fight over, but there are no bonus armies for the ring itself. Bonuses are gained if the player choses to invest in resources outside of the ring, like certain equipment or training upgrades, or certain punch or defensive combinations. For example, accessible from each corner is a region called "punches" with territories like right uppercut, left jab etc. Another region for "blocks," "equipment," "training," etc. with territories in each that earn bonuses.
It's just a rough idea now but I wonder if this might spark anyone's interest. I have zero graphics or programming skills but would be pleased to work on game development. I have no idea if the site's XML would support some of these concepts. Is there any interest in helping me flesh this out and implement it?

The Alamo what do you think? I have a a few on the poll that would like to see it as a playable map.
Games Workshop fans?

Hello
Not sure if I'm revealing my credentials as champion of ultimate sadness here, but has anyone considered the option of designing a map based on the old (1992) Games Workshop boardgame called Battle For Armageddon?
Images of the boardgame map can be found through a google search and the board would be ideal (in my humble opinion) for a CC game.
The areas around each hive city could be the continents belonging to the associated city.
Anyways, just a suggestion.

These sort of ideas would be protected under copyright. Also there a map ideas thread for ideas you dont intent on carrying out yourself.

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread. And good point about the copyright issues... GW aren't exactly renowned for being easygoing when it comes to protecting their intellectual property. Oh well, it seemed a good idea at the time...
Cheers!

Now that would work. You could put all the zoomed in areas in the southern hemisphere as south africa and south america didnt see too much fighting

yea but what areas would be zoomed in? obviously japan and pearl harbor so that those zoomed in areas could be bombarded. Maybe also germany and/or g.b. and/or france?

European theater and pacific theater. though with so much going on in each, it would be hard to do justice to them both.
possibly euro would be britain-stalingrad west-east and north africa-south norway south-north

One of the zoomed in areas should stretch between south norway, north africa, stalingrad and Britain.
the other one should be around japans empire, but i know less of the war in the pacific so i couldnt say exactly where.

well if we throw in the USA as one territory for bombarding the japan area, then for the zoomed in japan territory it would have to have Nagasaki and Hiroshima

For gimil or anyone if he gives permission:
A Feudal Wars Series. All maps with the same kind of gameplay and gfx, but in different locations.
Feudal Wars: Classic
Feudal Wars: Japan
Feudal Wars: UK
Feudal Wars: Europe
Feudal Wars: Native American Tribes
Feudal Wars: Greek City States
...
Could be interesting.

Someone has already created a tamriel map from the elderscrolls saga. I think it would be cool if someone created a map of the relm of madness, also known as the shivering isles. If someone picks it up, here's something to work with.
