The Leafs beat the Bruins on Saturday. HUGE win for Toronto. Boston will likely be very fired up tonight, for the re-match. Things could get ugly.

Close one last night for Pittsburgh. What do you think about the Morrow X2 trade ? Pittsburgh all-in for the Stanley cup ...

I think it's great. It gives our forwards size which we desperately needed.

Penguins are dominating, Flyers are sucking.

Great to be a hockey fan right now.

One goal from Crosby was all it took last night, great performance by both (3) goaltenders.

Pittsburgh's going to be hard to stop this year. Iginla is a very all round player, they're probably going to put him on Crosby's right and have Dupuis playing with Malkin and Neal. Going to be two very very good offensive lines.

Iginla - Crosby - Kunitz
Morrow - Malkin - Neal
Kennedy- Sutter - Dupuis

Ouch !!

The new rumour I'm hearing now is a team bus, the equipment manager, and Pittsburgh's 7th round pick to Florida for everybody. The are expected to waive 90% of the team, keeping the players they think will fit.

Yeah that's how I'm seeing it. We hardly needed another offensive threat but this was definitely a great move considering Boston would've got him otherwise.

Can't believe the Pens got Iggy.

They are gonna be tough to stop. Very tough.

I've read that Boston was told they'd won the Iginla sweepstakes around noon on Wednesday, and that it was Iginla's decision to nix that and go to Pittsburgh. Sucks for Boston. Pens are definitely trying to win NOW. I've heard that long-term, it will be difficult for Pittsburgh to keep everyone, but for this season - man, they'll be tough to beat.

And don't forget they've got Fleury and Vokoun in the goalie department. Both of those guys would be first goalies in most teams.

Vokoun is not as good as he once was. There is a reason he's a backup now.

Bollocks.

Ok, I didn't catch who it happened to, but Datsyuk just made a guy fall over with a deke. Nothing came of it, but the guy just fell over. Awesom.

What a dominan performance tonight. Killed off a 5-on-3, scored shorhanded, Malkin scored in his first game back and Vokoun ended with a shutout. 14 in a row and now well have Iginla.

Oh, and we've managed to move down to 7th in goals against while maintaining first in goals for. I don't know what changed our defensive play but it sure as hell worked.

Yeah, people are calling it embarrassing, but, let's be honest, this could have happened to many defensemen in the league, much less a poor center.

I also like how they're booty dancing in front of the net.

Praying to Buddha that Crosby is alright but again, what a game. We dominated the 2 minutes of 5-on-3, Cooke got a well-deseved goal and then Neal finally got a goal in Malkin's second game back. Third straight shutout too, Vokoun is playing well now.

No you did not. The Islander's were simply pathetic; they need to be lined up and individually slapped in the face with a goal tender glove. Had the Penguins prevented a plethora of shots on goal I could see the argument, but they passed the puck around each other and never even attempted to get it towards the net. The commentators on MSG were really calling them to task for the pathetic 5-3 play.

(MInd you, had they done so there was no guarantee of a goal, but as the lottery saying goes "you can't win it if you are not in it," and the Islanders seemed not to be "in it" most of the third period.)

For being down 5-on-3 we held the Islanders out of our zone pretty damn well (a lot of credit goes to Matt Cooke); I consider that domination.

"Now's the time you start looking at the standings and realizing where you're at. I don't know if it's a fear, but there definitely needs to be that urgency. Everybody in here realizes it, we just have to go out there and do it on the ice."

-Ryan Callahan

Now we know the Rangers secret plan, I'm looking forward to watching them now, I wish he provided more info. When will they be doing it on the ice? At practice or during the actual game??

Montreal win 3-0 over the Rangers might get Torto fired ( not only this lost but the whole season ).
Who do you think will be fired first : Torto, Laviollette, Sacco ?

Btw, Toronto will probably make the playoff for the first time since 2004 ... Kadri is awesome !

THE ISLANDERS JUST DEFEATED THE DEVILS 3-1

In other news ...

Wait a second ...

That wasn't an April Fool's Joke

No, it was not ...

The Rangers beat the Jets ...

(Apparently they ran out of fuel.)

This is going to be a tough fight to get into 8th place.

Cooke's puck finds it way to Crosby's face. No one else has said it here so I thought I'd do it (but not on the ice)
