It wasn't ignoring the question. It was hopping on to take turns on my risk games after I missed a turn in a few of them after one of my dogs had to be put down yesterday.

In my opinion skimming is a lot worse than joke voting, but timing also matters. If it's past around halfway through day 1, to issue a "joke vote" is just taking town away from actually trying to find scum. It is what ultimately led to mandy's downfall when he caused a 100 page+ day 1 which led to many conversations, but also led to a lot of frustration from other players in the game since it also drew attention to many different points. Skimming on the other hand is just not giving your full effort into a game. If you're going to pay, go all out. As a former coach, I would tell people that I can live with mistakes as long as they are effort mistakes. If you aren't going to try to do your best than why even be out there. Likewise in a game, no matter your role I believe you should always try to do your best to help your side win whether you are VT which makes it quite difficult sometimes to town cop which is a lot easier to try to find scum as long as you can stay alive to being a mafia goon where you are privy to who is working with you and against you.

1st vote: Mtamburini: 1st joke should have been an obvious joke vote there claimed blatent bandwagon vote, but could've been with any of a half dozen reasons just to make up and show that I was around

3rd vote/1st serious vote: Chuck because when I read thru he didn't seem to see much point to trying to figure out a person's style from past games and how it "could" be relevant to a current game. His response of "I get that a player's history can be relevant but my vote wasn't because he was referencing old games. My vote was for a joke vote for him saying he was too lazy to look." very well might be true, but at the same time I found his previous statements to sound a bit guilty after his exchange with mtamburini on page 3 near the bottom posting.php?mode=quote&f=213&p=4756883

From what I've seen Mitch tends to look scummy all the time in games. He lacks the polish needed to successfully argue why someone should or should not be considered scum and by doing so especially when it is an inaccurate "read" then finds himself under the gun. The way he seems to be quite hesitant to use past performances to state whether someone is a certain role makes me think that he may in fact be scum instead of town especially in light of the two old games that I have been reading he was in fact a plain townie.

Epitaph: yes it's a lot of work trying to read old games, but while I wouldn't say I'm completely up to speed, a small sample size isn't a bad thing to have on day 1 initial reads. Post day 1 should be about 99% based off of how they are acting in the current game with finding evidence within the game.

I got a prod from the mod... sorry I forgot I was in this game. At a quick glance, it looks like a normal day 1 so far... a lot of people I haven't played with before, so it's going to be even harder getting reads on them than normal on day 1. I will have to read in more detail later today to see if I can find anything that jumps out at me as worthy for a vote.

I agree with epi about narrowing our options here,however i dont like his top list there,he even says himself he doesnt really like the sausage/chuck cases but lists them anyways?
Also his response on ragian seemed intentionally wishy-washy,like he was trying to cover his ass regardless of how rage flipped.
Id put epi on my top list along with sausage and dakky.

I'd say LSU rather than dakky. It seems to me that he regretted his vote on dakky. Also, we have now seen hotshot show up. He should contribute a bit more.

I regret no vote that I have made in this game. In the joke phase of the game if someone admits to skimming and they are not close to a lynch, I will vote on them and eventually switch off when I find a real reason to vote for someone else or else someone else does something deserving of a joke vote.

Sorry to disappoint with my Ragian read. I don't have a hard read on him, deal with it.

I gave the top people that have been pushed today as an example. It's up for discussion who we should narrow down for a lynch. LSU has been and remains the top candidate for me. Sausage did trip my scumdar with his trap vote, so I put him on there even though I wouldn't vote for him over LSU. And chuck has drawn a lot of heat from people, although I would still vote LSU over him. I'm not going say "let's narrow down the list" and then only recommend one person.

Explain your reads no sausage and dakky.

There is no reason you couldn't have mentioned it and not voted. It was switching votes that apparently made you scummy not pointing out when people were absent. This reeks of trying to ingratiate yourself to mtamburini while trying to appear actively scumhunting.

What was all the bullshit about not knowing Ragain was scum in H.P.? and not knowing Bellatrix, then you busted Chuck over this . It seems like a waste of time. Who is your 1 scum pick, and who is that pseudo( sham, phony) confirmed town, I think you are the phony with your post above

I've just done a comprehensive look at the comments that have been made so far, I sorted the posts made in this thread based on author instead of post time, I find it easier to track what an individual has been up to that way.

Dakky: Has been busy targetting Tim from the early going and hasn't offered a read on anyone other than Tim. Makes me a little suspicious at least as to why he's not giving his reads on other players.

Endgame: Has been very active, slightly pushy but not in a bandwagon way, tends to not focus on any on person. I have a town read on him, if he isn't town he's playing scum very well, others will be in a better position to know if he's good at playing scum.

Epi: Has talked about a lot of different players, doesn't appear defensive, seems keen on getting someone lycnhed and prefers that it is LSU or Chuck. I have a town read on him so far but I want to know in detail what he doesn't like about Chuck.

HotShot: Hasn't said anything of note, but then again he's barely said anything at all, I think we should pressure him a bit more to be active so we get the chance to have some reads on him. I'm not saying his actions are scummy, the lack of activity however is a problem.

LSU: Voted chuck for a bad reason (him not realizing the importance of past games. Don't see how that's particularly scummy.), I liked that he offered up prior reads on Epi to judge what Epi could be in this game, but I don't like how he immediately voted on someone who didn't think prior reads was relevant, it felt forced and unwarranted.

Madmitch: I don't like the reasoning for his early serious vote on LSU and I don't like how he said this

He's offering LSU's early vote on Chuck up as a reason for voting LSU, but he voted LSU before LSU voted Chuck, so clearly this wasn't the reason he voted for LSU, and if that early vote is scummy, then his early vote is scummy too. The real reason Madmitch voted LSU was pretty shallow in my eyes, he didn't like that LSU said that Epi felt like town, and yet LSU wouldn't rule out Epi as scum due to his earlier games. I don't think that's lynch worthy.

Mtamburini: Has been very active but has been avoiding making reads or contributing to finding scum, I'm getting suspicious of his behaviour, looking through all of his posts it's seems he never actually tries to look for scum, the only thing of note he's said is that he likes Endgame so far and that HotShot should be more active, both of these statements I would agree with. Similar to HotShot I'd like to pressure him to make reads on more players, but I'm more surprised that he hasn't, as he's clearly around here posting, but 90% of it is contentless lull.

Ragian: Ragian has been very balanced, is more keen on asking others questions than making reads himself, that's the only negative thing I can say about him so far. Although the questions he asks are relevant I'd like to see him make more reads on other players. He seems like a good player and others have confirmed this, so far I have him as town but I'm not as confident as with Endgame.

Streaker: Has been way too inactive very likely due to moving into a new house, what he has said I like however, he caught dakky pushing a vote on Tim and Madmitch going after LSU, it took me quite a lot of research to arrive at this and I like how easily he saw it. I would pressure him to being more active however, but I certainly wouldn't lynch him this first day beacuse what he has said has been good.

Thechuck: I like Thechuck so far, he doesn't seem afraid of confrontation and doesn't overreact when he's in it, I have a town read on him.

Tim: As others have said, his spelling is...not the best, I actually found it difficult to comprehend what he's writing, after looking at it closely I find that he's not been adding much to the conversation, he's mostly talking about other things, I'd like to hear his reads on other players, he said he would do a full read on Friday, which is today, so perhaps we get some more substance from him soon.

Whatsausage: Overall I like Sausage so far, he seems to be intent on finding scum, altough claiming he set a trap for bandwagoners with his vote on me sounds a little bit like after construction, but it's possible that he's just zealous in his hunt for scum. Definitely getting an aggressive and offensive wibe from him, usually scum are a bit more defensive.

Most likely to be scum so far in my opinion:

2.LSU
3.Dakky/Mtamburini

Mtam, I'd say is probably town, playing his usual arrogant scum hunter.

Mitch I don't know, all of his posts seem to be even more filler than usual for him. He seems to post more filler/flavor when he is scum, like in the famous HP game people have been talking about. I am not getting a good feeling about him so far.

Otherwise, everything else seemed like normal day 1 stuff to me, nothing jumped out as particularly towny/scummy, I don't know people like MrBelly, LSU, and chuck good enough to know if this is how they play as town or scum.

So if we're doing our top three's, my top three right now would have to be Sausage, Mtam, and streaker.

Interesting how the next post from(above)says you dont have a hard read,if thats the case why did you say you thought he is more likely town? Why not just tell me that you didnt have a good read?
For example when rage responded to the same question he actually gave me some logic and a soft town read.

Rage in response to this post,i think epi is exactly the kind of player who is confident and experienced enough to try and lead as scum. Think about mets in CYOM,he lead town all the way to Lylo in a similar fashion.
Everything epi is doing is exactly what i would expect scumepi to do,push hard on scumhunting because he is looking for 2nd scum group,the bit of bullying hes going for,the insecurity in his read on rage seems like hes a bit concerned rage will flip scum and then he will look bad.
Its even more important for scum to make good reads then town in a game with multiple scum parties.
Town is the 800 pound gorilla in the room(we are the strongest faction if we get our shit together) but the 2nd scum group is far more dangerous to the 1st scum group,especially early on.
So theres a case on epi.
Sausage worries me for a lot of same reasons,hes scumhunting but his agressiveness kind of seems scummy,as scum he seems to be dismissive of any suggestion that hes possible scum(from my experience)and he is never without a case to be pushing(which he started very early with that joke vote that wasnt a joke). I watched him play similarly in adventure time(which he was won as scum) very recently.
Dakkys push on tim is based off of such poor logic that im thinking either hes using scumlogic to make an "easy push" on tim or hes not even bothering to read the game and may as well be dead anyways.
Im sticking with sausage for now,but deadline is 3 days so all those not voting need to get on it asap.

nothing really more then a gut feeling im liking dakky because he seems like his typical self not doing anything differant that im seeing,

I would lynch between hotshot, belly, and mitch. I like belly the most of those 3 as him and hotshot have both commented a read on me that completely contradict eachother. Hotshot read on me feels more like a pocket then an actual read.

@hotshot, describe my play in more detail then what you said.

@mitch my scum read was on chuck but hes kinda grown on me and the comments of recent are more scummy (hotshot/belly reads on me and then the case brought up against you is pretty good)

I wouldnt lynch you today because I think youre more likely to be an easier read from the games Ive played with you.
