so what's the word on the allowed/disallowed maps? and whether the games we've mentioned have been officially forfeited? and what happened to our perfect score against EWL on the first page?

when does the next round start and is it the same teams? e.g. THOTA vs EWL just on different maps?

sorry but terrible information / organization / record keeping on this one so far imo.

I wish to respond to the first 2 posts, organising and running a tournament is a tough task - it is extra tough when its a league with so many games involved.

Yorkie already did well to even get this competition off the ground as it is extremely difficult to get privs. for anything that is seen to involve clans.

Several matches have successfully been created - pms sent and in most cases games played and completed.

He has updated and posted a league table for games that are fully completed (it would be daft including games in this that are still incomplete - that is why he is also updating the scores seperatly)

He has also posted a fixtures table for the remainder of the league.

As for the issue around the gimmicky maps - you will always encounter problems like this when a new tournie is starting. I believe everyone now understands what the thinking behind this rule was. Ironically many of the posts about map that are not traditional risk type or that are more based on luck are made by members of the clan doing the most protesting at this moment in time. I could post a sample of them here but I suspect there is no need.

I was unaware there are actually disputed games but my view on this (and the final word should be with yorkie) if both teams joined then the result should stand unless replacement games were created and joined then the results in these should take precedence.

I believe I have responded to all what was said in the above two posts here and I would like to appeal to neph casper and anyone else to give yorkie a chance as in reality he has done a great job thus far - he is a longstanding and well respected tournie organiser and i am confident he will ensure this one will be a success as well.

PS yorkie if I can be of any assistance in organising this tournie let me know. I am very busy at the moment on several fronts but im hopeful this will be improving soon.

ok i saw the league table... each game doesn't count in the standings? that's b.s. in theory a team that wins 9 games and loses 7 games every round (81-63 overall record) would win the tourney over a team that goes 16 and 0 every round except for one 7 win 9 loss round (135-9 overall record)? ghey.

Just what is it with thota?

At one time I held aspirations to join them. But we have completed a clan challenge against thota recently where the thread turned into a flame war.

And now here, it seems that thota just want to disrupt everything that is going on. These people do a great dis-service to the good name of thota. I am beginning to think that the exclusion of thota from any of my future tournaments is the only way to go.

Come on guys this is meant to be a bit of friendly competition. I have put a lot of work into this league and I think every other clan appreciates that. Really if the guys at thota think otherwise then may I respectfully suggest they pull out of the league.

I have said before and I will say again if you don't like it here then get out. Continued disruption to my league will result in you being thrown out.

What the hell is this. Check out the first page. There is a chart which contains all the results recorded so far along with an indication of when other games will be played. underneath that is a league table incorporating all those results and underneath that a list of latest scores and upcoming matches. I trust that you can read?....look for your benefit I'll copy and paste it here

Image

Latest Scores

The Bounty Hunters 0-4 Legion of the Damned

The Horsemen of the Apocalypse 8-0 EWL

Double Dragoons 1-5 Legends of War (latest score)

Bushwackers v Thota

EWL v The Bounty Hunters

Legion of the Damned v Imperial Dragoons

Legends of War v The Untouchables

Double Dragoons v CWC

see?

now what about this is not organised?

The whole point of restricting maps is quite simple even for you to understand.

There are people on this site who specialize in certain maps and are almost unbeatable. All maps are welcome i n moderation, but I do not want teams fielding 16 pearl harbour maps for example. If you really want to include 2 or 3 then fine.

I put a lot of work into this and am still trying to get a 10th team organised. I spend a lot of time chasing team captain's in order to get the maps from them and get the games created. For this I receive no remuneration not even free premium. I do it for the enjoyment of it but I do not enjoy the likes of you too trying to start a flame war

You can both consider yourselves on a warning anymore and I will suspend you for the next match

I have a legitimate question about how this will be scored because you never posted anything about it until a few days ago. Do you not see my point? I just don't see the point of every team playing 16 games per round for them to not count in the scoring. Maybe it is an American vs. British thing. From my point of view, a win as a win like in baseball, not as a "goal" like in football. As I said before your tables were not up until recently and you hadn't posted any info on the scoring prior to that.

No they did not, I never realised I need to be asked before posting an opinion on a particular thread -this thread is one I am following as it its about a competition that my clan are competing in so obviously I am paying close attention to it.

I would have made a similar post if anybody else organising this tourie was in my opinion wrongly criticised. If the criticism was with justification I would be the first to post in support of it.

I don't know who's the more daft, you for writing that drivel or me for bothering to reply.

I don't know about american baseball. So letschoose some sports that we both know about.

Tennis. Suppose roger federer wins every round of the us open, 6-0,6-0,6-0 and gets to the final where he plays this guy who won all his games narrowly. If he wins federer narrowly too will federer say, its not fair i won more games and sets throughout so i should be champion. I think not.

What about the Ryder Cup? suppose its all square with the singles to play and the americans win 5 singles 8 & 7 and the europeans win 7 on the last hole...who wins? the Americans? cos they won more actual holes? I think not.

And while we are about it how the hell am I supposed to publish a league table before any results are in?

this has been there all the time though

This is for teams of minimum 8 players only. Each team will play home and away 16 games against each other team.

Only players who are registered here may play.

Home team will choose all 16 maps. pm them to me and i will create them. Once created You will have 1 week to join them all and send to your opposing captain. Your opponents will then have 1 week to get all games active.

so what sort of dumb question is this

ithota joined all their games, if ewl didn't then thota will be awarded the win.

EWL it would seem are now struggling to get a team together and are talking to me about deadbeating

look man, i have not flamed anyone in quite a while here.....i'm simply trying to understand the rules of the tourney.....and i repeat, some of them are absolutely unclear. casper mentioned the scoring. but as for the maps you have to understand:

1) you clearly state in the above quote that you don't want anyone overdoing "certain maps," including pearl harbor. but you're okay w/ 2 or 3 of these maps, even the dreaded pearl harbor

2) yet, i was forced to drop a single pearl harbor map. that's a contradiction.....or am i crazy?

3) the "certain maps" were never identified, beyond pearl harbor and AOM. they still have not been.

4) my first set of games included AOM, pearl harbor, KOM, and benelux. only 2 of these were ID'ed as bad, and of course none were duplicated. so that's another contradiction

5) in summary, it seems that there is no clear rule. essentially it is vague and our maps were only DQ'ed when our opponent complained about it. if you want to kick me from the tourney or whatever, fine, just tell me honestly: do you really understand that this makes no sense?

yorkiepeter wrote:You can both consider yourselves on a warning anymore and I will suspend you for the next match

exactly what am i not allowed to do? i just want to play a fair game. we're supposed to pick a home court and you very shadily disallowed me from doing so. is it simply that i'm not allowed to say so?

Thanks for that mate, glad someone appreciates it. Your next game is away to LOD, the games have already been created, just waiting for LOD to finish joining them
