Today was a big day in Men's International Football.

  • Germany tops Brazil 3-2, while German legend Juergen Klinsmann coaches his first match at the helm of the U.S. soccer program, against Mexico.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw after a stellar goal from each side, along with a share of controversial decisions against both sides.
  • And in a massive game, Italy triumphs over world champion Spain, 1-0.

8/13 (August 13): Jamaica division begins Round 4.

Added this clause to the rules. Please be a good sport: even if you know you can't advance, play your heart out in every game. After all, defend your pride and go for some CC points. Not that anyone's done this but I anticipate it:

Furthermore, the organizer may ban a player for intentionally dead-beating or intentionally performing poorly in a game in Stage I due to the player's knowledge or belief that he cannot advance from his division.

Indeed, as is the case in quite a few divisions!
And what a coincidence, the final match is between the top 2 in the group (both you and co-co have a 3-2 record), so the winner advances! Sort of a divisional final :)

After all 6 rounds of play, ALL ties will be decided through playoff games
(even between players who are guaranteed not to qualify, if they want to, just to settle things, such as between 3rd and 4th place).

So yes, determining who is 2nd and who is 3rd would be decided through a playoff game:
If two players have the same number of wins after all six rounds of divisional play, then a playoff game will be created between the players with the identical ranking, on the divisional map with the Universal Settings.

And, if more than 2 players are tied,
If more than two players have the same number of wins after all six rounds of divisional play, then a Standard game will be created for the players with the identical ranking. The winner of the game is ranked highest. The player in second place is ranked next highest. The player in third place is ranked next highest, etc. Thus, the player eliminated first would be ranked lowest.
