I few people responded to my point about losing 3 games. I do understand that some people will lose 3 games, I almost did. My point was mathematically, it is possible that everyone could keep winning at least 1 game and moving on.
This would depend on how many keep playing even after they have a win in each round, etc., but it is possible.
I think your idea to make even rounds only 2 games is an excellent idea. This would cut down the amount of players much quicker.
Still, for all of you who want to argue with my math skills, even with 2 games per round, if everyone went 1-1, everyone would move on. But chances are much greater a player loses 2 games.
For all you pin heads out there who keep posting their record. Tournament Director has asked everyone NOT to post your wins loses, he will check it.
Thanks, Joe B.

Well there are a lot of new players in this tourney that are really excited to be playing. I don't mind if they post in the thread their accomplishments--we are not even filling a whole page anymore so when I read through it is really no big deal. They do not have to post as I do check. I just don't want the pm's coming in with I won stats.

In regards to the 3 games--I do agree your math is accurate. I have run tourneys in this style before and believe it or not you lose players every round. Even in the later rounds. For now I will keep it at three but if it starts to really drag I will have to move it to two. I think I would do a poll first. I don't plan on going anywhere so I will be here to keep it running :).

Thanks for the input--all input and opinions are welcome.

I vote keep it at 3 rounds. Even if it is possible for everyone to stay in the tournament, that is obviously not what is going to happen. The actual math on it is a little too difficult for me to figure out right now, but as a proxy: If 2400 players of equal skill all played all three games then about 300 would be eliminated in the first round. The actual result is even more players being eliminated. See my post here:

agentcom wrote:2379 players
About 50 have played too many games.
About 240 of the rest have lost 3.
About 285 of the rest have not won any games, but have not yet completed 3 games.

This is caused by (1) winners not playing more games, thus not taking a chance at losing a game, thus not allowing other players to grab a win off them; and (2) players not being equal causing more 3-0 records and 0-3 records than would be statistically expected.

Anyway, I say we stay at 3 games. That's what everyone signed up for. We already have some 300 eliminated. The tourney rounds are going to speed up. And most importantly, people are having fun.

Lastly, to all those wanting to get in (and maybe saving HA a post), join away. Password is in the title of the thread. And read the first page for tourney instructions.

Really--some of you need to take the time and read my pm's and the front page. 95% of all questions are answered. The multiple pm's asking about round 2 have become outrageous. It was in my last pm update and it is in the front thread which lists all updates --after a week or so I move the updates but pertinent ones will stay on the front page. I would say approximately February 16th will start round two. I can't give an exact date as games need to be completed. I will not allow players to join games after Monday most likely unless I get good reasons so there is about five or six days left to join games.

Check all games you have played from your wall link and if no HA's 200th Tourney games appear then go play a maximum of 3 games.

Look up HA's 200th Tourney waiting for players from Game Finder link

Cheers,
