also, is there a reason why you chose the prefectures that have the subway stations?

... Up in Hokkaido (northern Island), it's Hakodate, not Hakedate. Also Ibaragi should read, Ibaraki.
... Just trying to be helpful.

Take the outline/stroke off the circles and you're looking OK. And Hyogo has no circle.
dare i ask why you aren't putting
all of the army counts below the territory titles?

Ok guys, I've been playing around with GIMP for a few days and here is what i came up with, how does the back-ground look and blending in of the map? (And yes that is Mt. Fuji in the back-ground)

I'm not sure if you really want a modern Japan map. The images you're using as backgrounds in both versions I've seen so far are pretty traditional.
You might want to consider changing the territories to an older period. You'd give yourself more room for territories, borders, and factions.
I laughed when I saw a map with a samurai and a katana legend titled Modern Japan.
Imagine a USA map with civil war era soldiers and a musket titled "Modern America".
But that's just my opinion, as someone living in Japan, on the general image.
Good luck with it, and I hope to see more when you decide on territories and gameplay.

Well Gimil, i don't want to waste all my time working on something that people don't like, thats why i need you guys to tell me how the back ground is.
Symmetry, that is what i am going for, Traditional. I want to try to keep the Japanesee sytle but make it a little for modern.

I like that a lot if you fix the pixelated inner borders.

No color changes or anything else then the borders?

I find myself looking at the bg more than the map. The map is more blurry than the bg..

by Herakilla
i agree with kaplowitz there, the background just draws my eyes away from the map

by Unit_2
do you guys think a color change would work?
Posted: Wed Dec 19, 2007 10:38 pm
by spiesr
The background is too eye caching. I don't think a color change will solve it. it is just too busy.
Also, you probably have to much space an each side. (The map does not reach the edge of the map.)
