OH REALLY??lgoasklucyl wrote:Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Vikings fan, nor am I a HUGE Favre fan- but seriously? The guy kicks ass for you guys for 16 years and now you're going to PMS and boo him?
How about you boo the Packers' administration for choosing Rodgers over him when he's clearly still up to par with Rodgers? No, he's not as young, but he's still plenty capable of running an offense. Enough at least where your administration shouldn't have felt the need to REPLACE him after such dedication was shown. Yeah, he's playing for your rival team. He wouldn't have to be if your team hadn't REPLACED HIM.
Am I think only one who thinks all of these Packers fans are being giant, disrespectful assholes over this? Did anyone else see the videos on sportcenter (maybe NFL Today?) before, when the two old people were like "He's a traitor. We put all of our autographed pictures of him away. Yatta yatta." ? What a bunch of pent up assholes. They're all just jealous that they got rid of him and now he's kicking serious ass.
Guess what moron - you started this thread with the full intention of "huffing and puffing" over this.
Let me just state ONE MORE FREAKING TIME -
YOU STARTED THIS THREAD, MORON.

Get your shit together- I was referring to the outcome of the game.
If you're going to throw worthless, immature insults around, take two seconds to read what you're commenting on first. It'll make you look a hell of a lot less stupid.

The fact Favre said he had given his all to the Packers and had nothing left to give, then only a few months later unretires gets on my nerves.
(PS If you actually met the Viking fans at that game, you would know that ALL fans are assholes, not just the Packers or any other team, honestly, I"m suprised a giant brawl wasn't started)

Few points to make...
1. There were more number 4 jerseys in the stadium than 12
2. They booed the hell out of him(Which I do not fully agree with) but he did come with the arch rival so...
3. Packers screwed up by letting him go. So what if he "retires" then wants to come back. Training camp had not even started! FFS give the man his due.
4. When the dust settles and all is over with Fans will look back on this day and say WTF was I thinking booing the greatest QB ever in Green Bay History!

I love how upset Midwestern people get from booing.
In some East Coast cities, booing is used to express complex emotional mob responses ranging from extreme displeasure to mild amusement to genuine affection. So I find it funny that the Packer's fans booing has caused such a huge "stir" on this forum while no one has mentioned that Philadelphia earns a "stay classy, Philadelphia", for it's Phillies fans
throwing coins at Nick Swisher and Melky Cabrera.
There are a lot of things that go on at professional sports events that people have legitimate gripes with (like, when you Midwesterners come out here and are Very Deeply Offended by the colorful metaphors we add to our East Coast dialect in complex verbal conversation that ranges from expressing extreme displeasure to mild amusement to genuine affection -- we have a legitimate gripe with you Midwesterners showing up) but booing really shouldn't be one of them.
I don't expect anyone who isn't from the East Coast to understand, ya f*ckin mooks, ya.

Yeah, booing QBs is as bad as it gets in the NFC North...well, maybe some suicides in the stands for Lions fans, but that's understandable. We (or at least I) are well aware of how terrible Philly fans can get.

Dave is prejudiced because of the
state people come from? Is there a term for that (besides east coast snob)?

I'm a Pats fan, mainly. Do you have any idea how many GREAT players have left the Pats and gone to the Jets or the Fins? Do you not remember Curtis Martin? Yeah, it upset me. That doesn't mean I'm going to boo him and treat him like crap because the team let him go.
What if it was Tom Brady?

If Brady went to the Jets, Pats fans would hate him.

Was reading about that on the NFL site too, what a way to support your former poster player of the 10+ years by booing him on a homecoming came.
Ungrateful sods... seriously, I've seen other players come back to their former teams and get warm welcomes.

To be fair, the more ESPN compares Favre and Rodgers the more indignant both sides get. The fact that they're in the same division makes things all the more tense. You'll always back your QB when comparisons are made, so if the two teams ever meet there's a shitstorm.

Not all fans were down on Favre.
The sign I liked most was:
forget the jersey
respect the legend
Almost a stab at the Vikes if you think about it.
