jeraado wrote:Why not just allow anyone without a clan to represent the 'clanless' clan (if anyone wants to)? Then it is still public, and allows each clan to be involved.

There have been plenty of other tournaments where there are restrictions on who can be in a team (must be a combination of officers and civs, must be from the same country), so surely there just needs to be some way for the clanless public to enter in order to be considered a legit tournament

I did not sanction this post. Please disregard.

lolol. That is a good idea and thinking back into the box. That way awards will be issued and there will not be unrealistic requirements imposed.

The original setup was good, you just needed to open it up to the public. Team tournaments fill with 90% clans anyways. The organizer wants it clans only so, that puts it under different rules.

Chap,

Can you clarify for me how this works please.

In the title it says 14 teams / 12 clans - but somewhere 8 clans were mentioned i think.

I'm seeing 12 clans as 48 teams. So how many divisions?
Is it 4 so each division has 1 clan team in it? i.e 12 teams per division?
Or does one clan play another - 4 teams vs 4 teams, home and away?

Would it then be total games won or points for w/d/l?

Bit confused, sorry if I'm being it dopey - that'll be the dope.

Anyways the 3rd FOED team is nippersean, L M S, and wolfpack0530

France - sunny, esc, chained

Cheers, Nipp

Ok, However many clans that want to join can join. As of now, there are 12 clans that are interested. Some may fall out and we might have less. We could have more. We started out with 13 clans. Minimum of 8 needed. I need 4 teams from every clan that is involved. There will be 4 divisions no matter what. Everyone in a division plays a home and away with everyone else in the division. Every clan will have one team in each division. The top two teams from each division will be in the playoffs (8 teams in). The one seeds will be randomly placed against 2 seeds from other divisions. Teams from the same clan will not meet in the first round of the playoffs.

Does that make sense? Feel free to ask more questions. PM me. Whatever.

I just think playoff format is bad. playing well 22 games in division and then be eliminated in only 3 games makes no sense to me, especially in a tournament which is called "round robin".

Ok, but it's only round robin in each division. And that's exactly how the major sports work. 82 games in NBA, 162 in MLB and you get the best of 7 and best of 5 respectively in the first round. You can win 110 games in the regular season and get 3 playoff games. If you suck in the playoffs, that's not on me.

Closed as per TO.

You could still consider doing this small scale in the Tournaments area and allow non-clan teams.
