Out of curiousity, what is the 2% that you think is actually worth listening too?
To be honest, I think Metallica fits in that 2%, although their new music is quite awful. It is better then mostly everything else though that is currently being produced.
Couldn't agree more - Metallica is crap now.
I think Arctic Monkeys and Audioslave are the only bands made since 2000 worth listening to.

No. And Metallica is and has always been crap, the Black Album was a fluke as it is moderately tolerable.

Are there any bands that you are glad they have broken up?

It's not that they're crap, it's that you don't like them. They sold a shitload on Black Album, that stands for something.

To hell with all of these chicks that become famous because they shake their asses in their video clips. They're the scourge of the music world (Geez, even worse than rappers)
Example: Pussy cat dolls, Black Eyed Peas, etc.

A lot of good music has come out in the last few years, I could go so far as to say that... though I struggle to think of any examples right now.
But most of the modern pop music goes as fast as it comes; "in one ear and out the other"; never anything memorable to stand the test of time.
I never liked Sinead O'Connor's music, so she gets my vote for worst 'band'.

Hell, 90% of all music ever made is crap.
My personal 'wouldn't cross the street to pee on them if they were on fire' list:
Incubus
any band that classifies itself as emo
Fleetwood Mac
Limp Bizkit
Creed
There's more, I'm sure...
And, of course, let's hear it for the worst musical act in human history. There is a special stabby place in Hell full of gigantic barbed dildos for the black eye peas. I hate them so much that my hands are actually shaking as I type this.

Yeah, but even tool is not nearly as good as they once were. No way you can look me straight in the eye (so to speak) and tell me that lateralus or the 10,000 whatever-it-was-called could pick up the dry cleaning of undertow or aenima....

I don't necessarily agree with that statement.
I'm sure that rock music covers at least 10% of all music. Sure, not all of it's great, but a lot of it is good to some degree unless it was made since 1995. Then there's a good possibility of it sucking.
Also, I'm sure that the 90's and beyond doesn't hold 90% of the music.

Bob Dylan released "Modern Times" on August 26, 2006. Might want to check it out

I know they broke up, but can we kill the spice girls just to make sure they never get back together? They have produced the most disgusting noise to masquerade as music ever. Who could forget those deep and moving lyrics?

I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really
really really wanna zigazig ha.
Even now, I feel the need to cleanse myself from this disgusting drivel.

Really? I think they've gotten better since the 90's. One band I'm pissed off that got back together is Rage against the machine (I like them, I just like audioslave more, so it doesnt work out for me).

You mean the once were way back when they were not even good to begin with? Reminiscence.
The worst band ever to produce 'sound' from a supposed musical instrument definitely is
Secular. They cast various genres into their music and it sounds like a horse being hit with a clown car.

I actually like a lot of modern music - including a lot of rap - but I agree that few artists nowadays make tracks that actually stick in your head for years and years.

i heard of another forum game pertaining to bands, but i never wanted to start it. It's called Hurt/Heal
basically, a list of 10 bands and they all start out with 10 points. people can choose to either hurt (take away) or heal (give) 2 points each post. When a band is taken out or reaches 20 points or somethign (from their actions), a person can add another band. the bands that reach 0 go in the hall of shame, 20 in walk of fame. btw, each post a person makes, he/she must choose one band to hurt and another to heal.
