God, I havent played that game since I was six. All I can remember is that bit where you have to make pizzas for people for some reason.

Anyway:

Best -
Homeworld 1 & 2
Total War (Rome was the best; havent played Medieval 2)
Civ 4
Gal Civ 1&2 (2 was better)
Morrowind & Oblivion
Dawn of War and all the expansions
Freelancer

Worst -
any of those misc Sim games

I like most games that involve sport (FIFA, Pro Evo, etc.), killing - Call of Duty absolutely kicks ass - greatest war game ever and I've only got CoD 2! So does GTA - I love the mindless killing of the police especially and occassionally the organised killing of a few Haitians, Triads, etc. I like racing games too, and probably a few others I can't think of.

Don't really know about worst games cos I don't really buy any. lol

I really have to say i cant ever find any good games any more. They have become waaaaaaay too similar. Like take Gears of War. Hugely popular game partially because its gameplay is the closest to Halo. There are also many war games out but there are sooooo many war games they could have a seperate section for them. It's rare to find a new, unique, GOOD game any more. All there is now is SIMILAR games.

ya that's true...and all the games these days that are labeled "groudbreaking" only have like 1 or 2 gimmicks that make them stand out from the rest of the genre...but there are some indie developers making creative games, they just aren't in the spotlight yet or haven't executed their ideas properly...

It's hard to make a game now that actually entertains people without using other used ideas but it's still possible. The WII is doing pretty well because it brought videogames to a new level that everyone (including parents) love. Instead of sitting on the couch with all the light bulbs burnt out but your too lazy and "involved" in it. WII has introduced a new "involved" that gets you up and going. Though i think it's funny somepeople still find it lacking. I personally can't wait until we get into virtual reality kinda stuff.

Not really, the reason its so good is because of the feature where you can take cover.

I admit that most games are fairly similar now, but thats because developers have found a successful formula for games, but there are still good, original games out there.

Homeworld
Total War series
Freedom Force
Dawn of War
Civ's
probably a few others that I cant think of right now.

LOL!!!

Got an email reply from an arcade vending company today.
I'm putting a Killer Instinct 25" cabinet on layaway this week! \:D/
I've never owned one before and I always thought if I bought one, it would probably be a Street Fighter (I, II or Hyperfighter).

It's gonna cost NZ$1,300 which I guess is around US$800 or something. Can't wait till I own that isht and start pulling off Ultra Combooooos again :D

edit: some may ask "Why Killer Instinct?"
Apart from the fact that it is my all-time favourite game, it is rare as hen's teeth in NZ arcades. I haven't seen a KI cabinet in over 10 years, not even KI2 is around any more. I've got to have one... even if just for old time's sake. I may get sick of it after a while, but... nah, I won't :P Plus I can teach my kids how to play so they see just how much of a gun I was back in the day lmao! ;)

Oh god SMRPG was so good.

I was a bit disappointed by FF12, but it was still above par.

I still play Smash Brothers almost every day.

I don't know about worst, but by far Katamari Damacy is one of the greats. Just it's soundtrack is enough to buy the game and play it. I mean seriously, rolling around a ball and picking up random things. How much better could it get?

/edit-Oh, and for those who like TBS, you should, you play RISK, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri is the best example I have ever played of that genre. If I had regular access to a Windows, I would play it nonstop.
