you both miss what i am saying by many miles. i am not saying that the grandparents are stupid or bad or anything - i am just saying that you cannot say their racism is somehow different because 'everyone else was racist'. it is still racism. people who were racist in 1950 were racist for just the same reason as people who are racist in 2012 - they are ignorant of other races. so how is racism different now to how it was then?

how far do you wish to take this idea? we should all just sit under a tree, watching each other with neutral mind and never pass comment on anything?

i never said judging someone is wrong.

i said that judging them outside of the context of their environment is a bad idea

eh. the environment that player describe is that these people were racist because 1) everyone else was and 2) they had not met black people. all i say was that this does not make their racism any different. there are many people like this in 2012. it is all still racism. there is nothing to gain from trying to justify their mentality.

(but yes, i do agree that judgement is rarely useful. people condemn a person as if that person is living the same life as them. but no one live the same life. so how can i make judgement on anyone? it is better to try to understand)

+125 SaxBucks to whomever can solve the following two problems for me ...

    1. f (x) = x3 + 7 , then f (x+h) =

    2. What is the x-coordinate of the solution of the following system?
    3x + 4y = 6
    x - 2y = 1

1) A: f(x+h) = (x+h)3 + 7

2)

3x + 4y = 6
2x - 4y = 2

Addition of Systems of Linear Equations Rule gives us one equation, by adding down each..."column"

5x = 8

A: x = 5/8

I need a second opinion on your answer number 2 before I can award any SaxBucks.

3x + 4y = 6
x - 2y = 1

x= 1+2y

3(1+2y) + 4y = 6
3 + 6y + 4y =6

10y=3

y=3/10

x = 1 + 2(3/10)
x= 1+ 6/10

x = 16/10
x=8/5

I had a math herderp. Nietzsche took the longer way, but when I simplified it to

5x = 8

Clearly, dividing each side by 5 gives us 8/5.

nietzsche, your way is cumbersome and boring.

Your attacks are fast, but they are directed in the wrong direction.

You hit nothing.

You FAIL.

FOREVER!

I agree, but I always liked that way because it was more intuitive. I never did write all those steps anyway, I just wrote them here because my results was different than yours and I wanted to see if I was making a mistake somewhere. Also, whenever I'm teaching a stupid relative basic algebra, that way is more intuitive and they grasp it faster.

What would be the 68th digit?
