And yes, the rules do say "wishing violence to any group of people", you are 100% correct. Now, please tell me where any violence was wished on Americans in the OP. If you can do that, I will agree with you.

No overt violent remarks, but he was covertly violent! As far as it not being bigoted, I disagree. It's taking something that is a stereotype of Americans and using it against them. For instance, if someone said, stupid towel-headed Arab, that seems pretty comparable to Dumb fat f*ck American to me. Would it get punished? Probably not, because we aren't punishing comments like that apparently.

Anyway, I don't know about Arab, I could try and look it up, but I don't remember. There might have been other things said as well, I'm not sure.

It may simply have been that Arabs are an ethnic group. Americans are not. Hence for many years Jews being protected by anti-semetic laws and other religions like Islam not having comparable protection. As Jews tend to be from the Jewish ethnic group, where as Muslims come from many.

Chap - If you want to argue this ruling, you'd have a case with the Jewish comment. But the American comment is not going to break any bigotry guidelines.

Its a shame that CC does not take into account the intent or context of the comments. As used as an insult chocolate face is clearly ment to be racist.

Yea, the more I've thought about it (especially since it was shown to me that it is intent that matters in punishments, not specific words like I thought) then my original position changes that this should have been a bust.

I still disagree about the "American" parts being bigotry. But the Jewish comment and "chocolate face" really show bigoted intent.

So would it be a bigoted statement if the president was white and he was called a chocolate face? (White chocolate) What happens if he is white and just has a darker complexion?

Chocolate is a description of his colour, not of his race. You are just interpreting what you think he was saying. Basically trying to read his mind without knowing for sure.

Hence my comment about taking into account context and intent. If you are insulting someone and you use their colour or sexuality its is used as a negative. I dont for one minute, I suspect neither do you, think that someone would add a compliment in to a "dumb fat f*ck" rant. This person was meaning to offend, therefore these comments should be judged by their intent as much as content.

Although CC do not take into account context or intent. Its the feelings of the most offended person who happened on the comment. Meaning two friends who banter each other but refrence race would be guilty of biggotry as much as someone aiming to offend.

Surely this means that any kind of insult where you reference a persons national head of state by describing them in any fasion is totally fine to use?

Do's it have to be in that kind of reference to make it ok? Or would i be allowed to call someone i knew to be black a 'chocolate face' straight up? Totally confused on what is now right and wrong...
