wacicha, I would hardly call wicked a
Lady
that being said, personally I do agree with Song-LiuWen in principle that sexist remarks are right up there with "the alliance" crap and would have no problem banning someone should they get intentionally offensive.
That being said, my personal preferances are not what guide the rules around here (and probalby a good thing too, because it would be a lot more boring indeed) and we have let worse than that comment go before.
To the rest of you, there is no need to put Song-LiuWen down for voicing her opinion about sexism, feminism and life in general.
and pilate065, comments like that are why I hate kiddies. Grow up and smell the revolution...
alstergren, THAT was out of line in my opinion, I would have slapped you if I was a woman

Watch out with comments like that in real life, because you WILL get your ass kicked if you say that to a woman. They are allowed to have beliefs outside of homonally driven emotional swings, even if men are not able to think outside of the sack dangling between their legs
anyhoo, respect eachother, pretty please

you are SO getting slapped in person when I visit Seattle later on. I don't care if you're not even there, I'll track you down with Kool's hunting dog and all 8 of his guns in his loud old pickup.

Shame I'm not in Seattle, might be there a year or so from now for a couple months, but I'll be approximately 10,000 miles away until then

did I say Seattle? I meant that other S-place .. singapore .. yeah that's it! SMACKSMACKSMACK!
You should take your own advise Twill, because comments like that WILL get you slapped in real life.

Oh my... then I hope you never get around to read other things I've posted in the game chat... I think you're ironic here though since I clearly made a joke. Also, I do drop such things in real life though, but have never got my ass kicked so far. But that's probably because woman can't stop thinking about the sack dangling between our legs... Either that, or they have a sense of humour.
Seriously though, I don't think people feel a need to "put Song-LiuWen down for voicing her opinion about sexism, feminism and life in general." All I've seen is people who have voiced their opinions about sexism, feminism and life in general, i.e. concluded that writing "pull up your big girl panties" isn't very troublesome.
Also. Had to look up "fecundity" on the web:
1. the intellectual productivity of a creative imagination
2. fertility: the state of being fertile; capable of producing offspring
3. A measurement of the egg-producing ability of a fish. Fecundity may change with the age and size of the fish.
No. 3 came from North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Division of Marine Fisheries...
My guess is that the prize is behind door no. 2 here. Any takers?

No, I meant #1 - intellectual ferocity.
The alternative meanings were actually pretty accidental to imply.
And if you're really that concerned with boys thinking girls are less superior in any way, have them come play a CC game with me.
The danger is that might carry on in real life without ever them realising it. Basically I want them to be smacked over the head for even having such a sentiment in the first place.
but it should hardly result in any disciplinary action.
There's a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination, no?

I wouldnt exactly call it zero tollerance, more of a "lots of tollerance" policy...we let people get away with lots here and hope that the community chooses to regulate itself.
We do have a zero troll policy tho (really, we do....really), so if someone is intentionally crude for crudeness sake, then we doban them.

I just want to ask you two things...
1. I still haven't understand why that comment was sexist. Seriously, it's a pretty innocent comment. Why on earth did you get so upset by it?
2. The line above suggests that you believe in absolute truths and is rather extreme in your views regarding this topic. When you deal with a group of people you can't really (at least in a post-modern sense) flatly state that you have the right opinions and they have the wrong opinions. To resort to violence even makes it more ridiculous. You seem to live in modernity as opposed to post-moderntiy where absolute truths are celebrated and hailed.
I think you need to calm down a little bit... Also, how do you discriminate in a risk game when you don't know who you're playing with? Let's say you get put on an ignore list, are you gonna be pissed off becuase you suspect you were put on that ignore list for being a woman? And even if someone doesn't want to play against woman, why would that be such a big deal? If someone is a prick, you can't just choose to ignore that person. A crusade isn't always the answer...

hey, don't insult the monkeys man! Monkeys are beautiful! This is more like watching C-Span, shallow and pedantic.
Anyway, I shall now donate my opinion on the discussion by quoting Family Guy.
"Oh man! That makes me mad! How can they say things like that about Jesus? I'm gonna do something!"
"Roger, there's nothing you can do..."
"Oh. Well then... I guess i'll just have to develop a sense of humor then."
Whining about being asked to pull your "big girl panties up" is as juvenile as calling someone a doody-head. Why would you glorify this attempt at getting you riled by getting riled? That's not very mature my female friend!

The panties thing is more a remark about whining like a recently-potty-trained toddler than about sexism.... as in those "I'm a big kid now!" trainer panties/briefs.
A true sexist comment would have some kind of blatant allusion to women not being as capable as men of suceeding at something, and probably would have ended with "... get back in the kitchen and bake me some pie!"
Grr... now I'm craving pie.

yea, it is...Because she's a woman.
But seriously. Don't be so uptight about "sexist" comments. What are you set out to change on an online forum? Get some kid punished cause he made some comment you perceived to be sexist? I think bigger better battles over more significant problems can be chosen elsewhere.
