then I was on the 55%. Belgium is a lovely country, with very nice inhabitants. Much better then us greedy dutch. We should never merge together, and it also gives a lot of chaos though
I think you CAN make smaller bonusses, but then not put them in the legend as-is. For example, the WWII ohama beach. Its a lovely map, most of the times you start with a bunker.
So my point is that you will have to change the legend (make it a little clearer) and get in some statues or something, that are in certain countries. Those then give an extra bonus. It keeps the fight going too
For the rest: the new version, it would idd be nicer if you put in more one-way or impassable borders. Do you know how much mountains are in the Ardennen, for I didn't really study the map of belgium ^^
would that be an idea?
and @chirondon, im from holland too...

I'm still working on the in passable borders + the legend etc.
Now I was thinking about the idea of actually make the map looks like, I don't know a touristic map or something...not just plain on a table...
That's why I tried this,
It's just the idea that counts, not the readability,...
Let me know what you think of the idea...

this is the map in it's current state, all comments are welcome
Details:
-All names in Wallonie have french names now
-Added some incassables...(the rivers do float there but they don't end there...I tried making the rivers flow through all Belgium but it doesn't look good...)
-Added mountains

The problem here is... the map still looks like Computer GFX - and the hand isn't...
so you have 2 options...
a) make the hand more GFX like...
b) make the map look more paper like...

Your new idea is very, very original!! Never seen this option before. You can work that out, but thats my opinion.
Maybe instead of a "normal" hand, you can try to make it an "army" hand, such as a
armor hand glove i.e.: the gloves of Samurai or Knight. Then it looks like a warrior is looking for the way on the map in the battlefield area of Belgium.
Just a thought
By the way, I like your signature

yamahafazer, the word you might be looking for is potential... means grow into its full powers and strengths.
Gnome, the idea with the hand as a tourist map is idd very origional, but the map should be huge if you would try to work it out. I think you could better stick to the flat-on-the-table idea.

Gnome: Well if it crys "Belgium" I guess it must stay...
serious_conq: Yes that was the word I was looking for... I never could spell very well

I realy like the treasure map look... I think it looks nicer than the turist map stile... However I don't think that the hand fits... what you could do it try and put an old rustick kind of table background on it as if your studying it hunched over a table... the Iraq map is using this kind of idea, but if you did go down this road on this one you would nead a very different feal...
bryguy: Yo dude... sorry its been so long... I'm sure we will get round to that remach some time

Gnome wrote:Belgium will never split...they can't split...The people doesn't want to split, only the government is acting crazy. And I'm sure Belgium is never merging together with the Netherlands...you don't have to believe what wikipedia says...I can also make some stuff like that...

It was a joke guys, I don't really believe Belgium is going to break up. It's fun to speculate about though. As to Vlaanderen joining the Netherlands: Belgium and the Netherlands were one country, for a mere 15 years (1815-1830), and that wasn't much of a succes. The Belgians didn't like it, felt dominated by the Dutch, so they fought free. Cultural difference is too big too, I think. See
http://www.geert-hofstede.com/hofstede_ ... culture2=9 for a little comparitive analysis. According to this, the Netherlands better merge with Sweden...

I think you should split Halle and Vilvoorde...
I like the map because I live in Belgium, needs more impassable borders tough...
