For you iPod owners out there...do you have any thoughts on the Zune? I've never owned either one but will be making a purchase sometime this year.

Never tried it. But I'm quite happy with my iPod, and I definitely don't regret the purchase.

if you have windows media player or jukebox or something like that, you can drag and drop all your songs into it, and you can shuffle them there.
EDIT: i'm also happy with my iPod (nano 2nd gen), but it does lack what a lot of features other mp3's have- FM radio and a voice recorder. also, the nano is pretty limited itself if you think about it. it does seem to have capability to play videos (its screen IS bigger than the latest nano out and photo quality is pretty good), and it should also have downloadable games.

8 months is getting a little ridiculous...

I think I'm touching a month, and that's still a little silly. I regularly find songs I've never heard before. I don't know what 8 months must be like!

That said, I've never gotten around to transferring anything on vinyl over to the PC so I probably have a hell of a lot more. Its not a job I ever dare tackle.

You know, I wonder what it'll be like 20 years from now, with CD's? :?

Do you mean Itunes the media player or Itunes the MP3 store?

It could be a cryptic reference to digital rights management, but that looks to be on the way out...

That's not even music anymore... It's just crappy reality TV shows.

I think people transfer their CDs now to be honest. I certainly have. I'm only in my 20s, I buy vinyl as a DJ (and to own old classics) so having a large collection is essential. I'm not into the whole CDJ or Laptop thing so I spin vinyl for the most part. CDs being a digital medium, the biggest part of the work is done for you. Just pop it in and one click will rip it.

My head has been like a one-station radio for Radiohead recently. :D

Yes, I'm good at bad puns.

EDIT: Also at unconscious alliteration...

The $250 iPod is 80 GB, same as the Zune. The $350 model iPod is 160 GB.

I got a Zune originally, but it's apparently been known to have software download problems (did with me), so I switched to the 80 gig iPod -- customer satisfied.
