If everyone has the same info - then tactics will be the key to winning a game.
errrrrrrr....
Forget that last statement about tactics.
The dice are so full of shit at the moment
that tactics, greasemonkey, ownership of territories, blah, blah, blah, - Are all a waste of time. A 3 v 2 dice should give an attacker an advantage. But throw your dice against anyone with 2 or more on the area you're attacking then expect to be raped
That's not true Pedro. YOU should expect to be raped but most people have no problem in such situations. Which is why I'm looking forward to you taking all the bad dice away from me in the Champion of Champions tourney

Enemy card display

by GabonX
Suggestion Idea: The number of cards an enemy hold should be displayed so that players don't have to backtrack through the game logs.
Specifics: In Risk, the rules state that you are allowed to know the number of cards an enemy has. The number should be displayed next to the players name or some other logical place.
Why it is needed: Looking back through the game log is a pain in the ass...Especialy if the player whose cards you are trying to determine has eliminated another player at some point.
Priority** (1-5): 4

Suggested several times, on the to-do list.
Install the greasemonkey script to get card counts:

Ability to easily see how many cards an opponent has [done]

by Wildstar
Hello,
It would be great if we could easily see how many cards an opponent has. NOT what cards they have, but rather how many.
I find I always have to go back through the game log to find out how many cards my opponents have. Some games go on for 20+ rounds. This becomes time-consuming. If it could be placed somewhere on the screen, that would be great.
Thanks,
Wildstar

if your using firefox I suggest you go get grease monkey and then somewhere on the forums there's a small program made by Troy that allows you to see how many they have and how many armies they have all together and how many countries they have and how much armies they'll get on their next turn not counting any bonus for owning specific countries/continents

wow this looks great. and i love the colorblind thing...im not colorblind...but im all for anything that makes people's lives easier. lol. Note: just checked it out...man i dunno...this almost makes it too easy lol. the one thing i don't like about it though is that it doesnt seem to factor in the potential for armies from cards.

Yea it does... see strength...
It doesn't account for missed turns or continent bonuses so watch out for that.

And it's strength equation is silly. It's almost more likely to say that someone with 5 territories and 20 armies is stronger than someone with 40 territories and 41 armies, when it's quite obvious that the latter is far stronger, especially if it's their turn.
In my opinion, strength is practically useless. I use armies and territories, and of course cards.

^ How would you calculate the strength of a player?
I'm open to suggestions.
This is the current eq: strength = Armies + PotentialArmies - 2*Countries/3
PotentialArmies = armies next turn - continent bonus + ( probability of turning in cards * redemption value )
e.g.
A better calculation would factor in the players positioning on the map and continent bonuses.
But What do you suggest?

I dont like the formula as it dosent count continents... etc.. never use that column.

the formula seems good to me in-game. but is that really the correct formula? doesnt the third part of that formula result in a deduction for land? what is teh reasoning behind deducting for land? shouldnt potential armies equal armies from land +continent bonus+ probability?

minus 2/3*countries, because when an attacker attacks with 3 armies to your 1 you have a ~1/3 chance of survival.
Probably should take into account which territories are in immediate danger and ignore the ones off by themselves.
Might not make a whole lot of sense to everyone, I just came up with it off the top of my head, so it's not perfect.
Show how many cards other players have.

Have a graphic or number showing how many cards each player has. It would save the hassle of trying to go through the game log to determine it, especially later in a game.

I think displaying of the count of cards for all oppnents is a good idea... as the other user said you wouldn't have to spend your time figuring it out manually

yeh i use safari and don't really like firefox. it would b a pain to hav to use firefox simply for cc. if a cards option could b added i would like this very much. i usually count manually although recently i found that in my 45 round game:
http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=111891 its a bit hard to count manually
