I guess it goes both ways, but when you're on defense you're not actively playing and failed attempts are never marked down so you never notice. I myself have been noticing a lot of BS rolls lately though. Attacking 23 to 9 and I don't even take out one of his people before losing 6 first.

I attacked Laois from Offaly and lost all my armies without taking Laois. So, I attacked Laois from Carlow and Kilkenny and lost all of my armies inthose territories as well without taking Laois. How can a person attack one territory from three different territories in one turn and not conquer that territory while losing all of your armies??

Ridiculous.
This is not an isolated incident where I've been screwed over by the dice. It seems now that I almost "always" lose two armies right off the bat when I attack another territory. It's pretty much a given now that I will lose two armies on my first attack of another territory. Does anyone else experience this as well?
I also seem to be losing battles that I should win more often. I mean battles where I have "at least" 7 or more armies more than the territory I am attacking.
I am beginning to consider using a new strategy on CC. Minimize my attacking and rely on the likelihood of others losing most or all of their armies attacking me or others because they're getting screwed over by the dice more often if I allow them to attack more often. Crazy..
All in all, it is possible that whatever controls or operates the dice on here is not balanced properly and I am "becoming" more likely to believe this is so.
Your second two attacks were 3v3. You SHOULD lose that battle.

Not quite, sully, because at the time I attacked Laois from the second two territories of mine, Laois had only 1 army left.

Yes, slash, it seems almost every victory is a Pyrrhic victory.

Sorry, you said "without taking the country" and I just read it as "without killing any men".
Just be thankful you aren't the guy who lost 15v1

Yeah, sully, no kidding. That guy sounds like he's reached the border between sanity and insanity as a result of the dice. I admit that I was probably overreacting when I made my first post in this thread because that one I mentioned happened after being screwed by the dice in two other games, the frustration had built up by that point and I felt compelled to whine about it here, which is preferrable to delivering a death blow to my computer.

Alright, everyone always flames the dice, so I want to take this moment to praise them (and kevinc's notifier).
My opponent and I each had roughly 40 men. Sets were worth 35 and he had two countries with 15 men on them. We each had 4 cards but I had ended my turn last (it was freestyle) so my opponent was waiting a bit to begin his turn so I would be around. Thanks to kevin's notifier and my luck for being at my computer I managed to begin my turn a minute after my opponent and get 18 bonus armies which was awesome (especially the whole not-being-eliminated-before-I-could-start part).
I placed my force of 70 armies right next to his force of 60 and we began attacking each other, which I have never done (both people attacking across the same border at once). My men were staying constant and his were dropping absolutely horrendously...going down 4 at a time every time I clicked.
All told I took over 70 of his men while only losing about 30 of my own, and managed to wrap the game up easily with a force of 18 still in tact, so it was never close.
So thank you luck, thanks to the dice, and thanks to kevinc!

I guess the dice like you sully. They sure hate me though. I just took my turn in three different games where I attacked a territory with 3 armies in it with a territory that had at least twice the number of armies. You know what happened? Not one of the territories I attacked in all three of those games lost an army while I lost all of mine. Also, in one of those games, I've only take on territory in the course of 4 rounds. I'm about ready to destroy my house and myself along with it. I almost can't take it anymore. I know I may sound like a baby, but the "bad luck" with the dice has become soooo constant that it is really eating away at my tolerance.
