Get a heart monitor, and you'll run like the wind. I don't know what it is. But I felt like I could've turned around and ran it faster.
A heart monitor is just a little thing you strap round your chest and tells you what your current pulse rate is, normally shows it on a watch dat comes wit the monitor. don how they make you run faster thoguh! :-S
I have no idea what it was either. Maybe it was because my attention was on the monitor the whole time? I have no Idea, but that was the best cross country mile I ever ran. Get one, and you'll see what I mean.

I don't think I've ever run a 5k. I took a jogging class once to fill out some credit hours that entailed running in circles for thirty or so minutes, so I can probably do it in about that time...

Lighten up... just remembering old times. Like I said, I'd be on a stretcher if I tried to run one today... Honestly I have no idea what a good time for women would be... but I do remember the captain of the track team (guy obviously) saying that if he were ever in a race with a world class woman competitor, he'd rather trip her than lose a race to a girl.

I don't remember my best 5k(3.1 miles by the way) as it has been a while since I ran a competitive one. My best mile was
4 min 45 sec in high school(35 years old now--you do the math)
Best 10k(6.2 miles) 44 min.
Currently training for Denver marathon in Oct. and run 3 mile training runs at 24 min.

Funny. When I got out of county(30 days) I couldn't stop running. My legs wouldn't quit. There were no walls.
No walls, SUGGS! Spend some time behind bars and running becomes an amazing gift. Of course, so did tv, books, fresh air, windows, forks, radios, extra blankets, toilet paper ROLLS, chocolate, shower curtains, deoderant...........

DaGip = 5k in 1 hour 15 minutes
I would never run that far! Are you guys trying to kill yourselves?!?
New research suggests
low intensity activities like gardening, nature hikes, and writing in forums....
People that exercise all the time don't live longer...they live less long!

There is more where this came from. Just Google it.
I first heard about this off of CNN when they were doing a story on people that live into their 100's.
Low intensity exercise in nature, eating entirely or mostly vegetables, consuming nuts, low stress levels, and some form of spiritual/religious belief.

I haven't run in a long time (I hate it, I'm asthmatic, and I smoke), but I've had to do 3k for fitness testing before (15? yrs ago). my best was just over 14min.

On a totally different scale, when I was a teen I used to travel about using youth hostels. I thought they were pretty basic. Then I used to travel about carrying a tent, and that was far more basic. Then I spent a coupla weeks with just a plastic exposure bag and a foil blanket. About half way through that one, I spent a night in a youth hostel. It was luxurious. Sheets! Mattress! Hot water! Light!. Warmth!

Just cause you sit on your fat ass watching tv and eating twinkies all day doesn't mean everyone does.

I detest Twinkies! I prefer raspberry filled Bismarks, or chocolate Long Johns with Bavarian creme...

16:31 on a course, I've never run a 5k on a track.
As far as other distance events go, my best mile is 4:39.
Aw man this is getting me all sentimental

I don't think I'm doing track in college.
On the bright side, graduation WEDNESDAY!!!
