because USSR is defendable... I've done it on a number of occassions. Perhaps you need more time on the map with better players to give it a fair shot, eh? And China is a great place to hang out in escalating or terminator.
that being said, not everyone is going to like every map. we all have our preferences.

I never said I didn't like the Asia map. IMO, its one of the best on CC. I like it so much that I made a slightly different version of it.
USSR is functionally impossible to hold. Has it ever been done? Sure maybe if the people who got ahold of the good continents (Siam, Japan, Oceania and India) were fighting long enough to ignore you. Count the # of countries in USSR with borders and compare it to India. It is a farce of continent.

Not impossible, just takes a good player and a good strategy. Like I said, I've done it before on more than one occassion, which is why I was suggesting you play it more before passing judgment.
That's all I'll say on this as I've made my point; but I'm sure you'll want the last word, so go ahead:

Maybe ur Asia map should encompass the whole of asia (include the middle east and the rest) and have Oceania in its correct position with Borneo linked to malaysia

Don't get me started on this topic....
I've moved onto hating the defending dice....
But maps that I hate (that I've played)
Circus & any map that has a brown squigley line for a mountain range

crosswword and circus maximus both suck. space doesn't quite suck, but i wouldn't say it's fun. Europe map is the best.

I like Europe, too. And Usapoc, qeee should try it. And space is ok.
At other hand, Indochina map will put me away from all tourneys like that 22 maps. I believe we should remove that map, since its not finished, and probably wont. I never played Crossword, but I hate it. Then Ireland, because of the # of borders, but I can accept play it.
Im now remembering someone that said Circus Maximus would become the most played map of CC. Who was it?

Well, perhaps my lamentation of no players for Circus M. did the trick because 4 people joined since my last post. Mind you, I'm the only player without a red question mark next to my name, so perhaps they have yet to learn the truth...
As far as favourites go, I'm a big fan of Middle Earth, although I've played it so much that I'm starting to go off it slightly. Tamriel is one that I also enjoy and I'm not disliking my first stab at Discworld.
Never played CCU or Crossword (and intend never to) but, despite playing it now and again, Britain has a special place for hatred in my heart because it was one of my first ever games, meaning that I had never before encountered uncrossable barriers - uncrossable barriers that the swine who drew the map didn't bother to mention.
Indochina also blows.
i do really...

Of course, i like the original, but Middle Earth and the British Isles are good too. i also like the USA one.

Fine, my next free game will be USA Apoc... we'll see what all the fuss is about. If anyone feels like challenging me on it feel free.
I only played Circus once, and found it too restrictive... there wasn't a whole lot of strategy you could use imo. I like the fact that the idea was implemented however.

You know I'm a Classic fanatic Marv. I had to make myself play all of the maps, so I made the 22 Maps - so I could pass judgement on all of them after the experience.
Tamerial, Discworld & Middle earth all look very nice - But I get sick and tired of straining my eyes looking for stupid named areas that I don't know where they are, every go, to see if I can occupy it, as it's one of my cards.
And these silly names make it damn near impossible to tell where someones been attacking in the previous goes in the game log.
I think the space map missed a trick with all of the planets outside of the sol system. Other systems that could of been cool and easier to find would of been;
The Star Trek system; Vulcan, Klingon, (and other planet systems i don't know because im not a trekkie) - With DS9 as the inter spacestation.
The Star Wars system; Endor, Corinthiscan, Hoth etc. with the Death Star as the inter spacestation.
Also - will it now be re drawn since Pulto's demotion?
I think that the Classic map should be re worked by Jota to look more appealing. the same layout - no additions, just made more beautiful

I agree.
And as far as maps I do not like ... some are not as cool as others, but I cant say I hate any of them.

Africa, Brazil and Germany (I think of them as in a similar class) are all nice maps.
Classic, on the other hand, is one of my least favourites for three reasons:
1 - I don't think it's especially well-balanced.
2 - It is UGLY!
3 - I'm sick to death of it. Bar the board, I'm not playing it anymore.
Europe is nice, though.

lotr... who doesnt like the lotr map? I hate lord of the rings and most things to do with it except the map, that is spectacular. It is also one of pilate's favourites, like half the games he plays are them, and since pilate is number 1, i think he should know what a good map is.
but ur spot on with crossword.
