For now, Soloman and Riskmaster2000 have been BLOCKED from playing together.

I don't think so. Moderators already do too much to stifle conversations here: telling off people who post some gentle ribbing; warning and banning others from using the forum; locking threads (especially suggestions/questions) that have been "resolved"; moving threads to their (sometimes) proper subforums.... a lot of things that don't need doing. Tell them not to have a hernia anytime someone in GD goes on a tangent and they'll find they need fewer helpers.

But mods do more than reprimand people. It's in those other areas where they need more help.

I mainly agree with it, but the amount additions isn't the most important, it's who they are. ;)

Well, fine, that's pretty much their entire job in GD. But in, say, the foundry, they're necessary to move maps along; if mods aren't there to stamp a map, it sits there stagnant (I know a few awesome maps that died from lack of mod attention). In sugs & bugs, mods are there to give official response and feedback; otherwise it would just be a bunch of powerless and unconnected people arguing and whining at eachother. Cicero was made a mod because of the INs. It's complicated, and he needs to be the one to write the official for them... but an official explanation coming from just another member is too skewed. In C&A, the mods are needed to coordinate between the headhunters and the finger pointers.

So yes, in the forums without a purpose, the mods serve no purpose. But every forum that actually accomplishes something tangible needs mods to do so.

:D

I agree with you, the point in the matter, is that the jobs aren't being none by the mods so far. And as I said above the thing about this is:

Foundry has enough mods already. They stay there, get things done, and don't bother anyone. They're good, but no one was added to the foundry.
As far as I can tell, everything in Suggs&Bugs either: gets put in a list to be implemented by lack at some time (after some amount of arguing about it); or is a bug that lack fixes; or is not a bug, and then anyone at all can tell the poster that. why are more mods needed there?
Cheating & Abuse reports suffers more from lax rules than too many accusations. Someone suspects someone else of cheating, they put together a list of games and reasons, and a hunter looks at the games and compares IPs and all that fun stuff. Add more hunters if you want more done. Ban people who make 20 multis (*manimal) and you'll do more than having someone relabel threads.
As for chat, I have no idea what goes on there.

But adding more people to the forum that sees the most posts won't help if they all just do what the previous mods were doing (annoying regular posters by banning them or trying to send them to flame wars).

Don't fret guys, they'll be kept busy, there's plenty for them to do. ;) If we hadn't needed them, we wouldn't have asked them to help.
