Thanks for the new info guys, list updated.

This only makes sense if you map the special medals i.e. the map making, special contribution and whatever the other one is, all void. Or at least max them out to count as 3 per medal awarded. Not really fair if someone who has made 12 maps but doesnt play risk at all beats someone who's been here for years.

So I would like to make a motion to only let each medal count as 3 max to even out the playing field since the max on any other medal is 3 any way.

OP has 30 tournament medals.
G1's totals would drop to 9.6 if none of his tournament medals counted.

I agree with what you are saying. If I made a usergroup with only mapmakers and tournament organizers, it would stomp every one of you guys in the totals

If you guys want to go make a list that discounts the contribution medals go right ahead. I made this list to include ALL medals, and clearly, my tournament medals are not drastically skewing the number in our clan's favor now are they?

There are gameplay medals, and contribution medals, both of them count for the purposes of this list.

It isn't some type of fancy official list, it is just a curiosity. There is no reason we need to get all detailed and restrictive about it. Some clans get their medals through gameplay, others through a mix, and others through contributions.

Then you should make two seperate lists then. one would include your "special" medals which have no limit

the other would include the regular medals that have a limit of 3 to max out.

Thats the only way it should be done. You cant compare the two types because one is capped and the other kind does not have a cap.

I know you are pulling for including all medals but its hard to see you as a neutral moderator when you have 30 of the special kind alone.

I think you are attempting to take this list far more seriously than it is intended.

There isn't a real reason why I would want to spend the extra time to sort all of that out. I made the list as a way to satisfy my curiosity, not to be official in any way.

And... what does me being a neutral moderator have to do with anything regarding this list?

Im just making a point that if you want to make something like this at least make it so it doesnt screw one group of users for the smaller good of the map makers. And if you havnt noticed on CC, any list that can be made into a competition will be made. notice the top 5's or any other list.

Im sure that most, if not all of CC would agree with me on my point. If your trying to make a list for fun, move it to the social forums where it wont be mistaken for a legitimate list

No one is stopping you from making your own thread with your own rules. Go for it.

when they agree to give out random pita medals, you can indeed count the 15 you would receive.. till then, youll have to make some maps, make some tourneys, or actually contribute to the site in a very meaningful way...

Ummm... I have been awarded all of my medals to this point. I'm not short any at this time. In a week, yeah, I will be because the system still isn't able to count that high, but it really isn't that big of a deal. I've been given every medal I've earned.

Ummm... I have been awarded all of my medals to this point. I'm not short any at this time. In a week, yeah, I will be because the system still isn't able to count that high, but it really isn't that big of a deal. I've been given every medal I've earned.

maybe you should also have a list without medals earned from map and tournament?

A map medal is worth far more than 1 tounrament medal. Maps take more than 6 months to go through the foundry and hours and hours of work!!! Not to mention debates and postings....

When i started Best Clan by points, I listened to the community and adapted the list to input from clan members. Maybe you should try doing the same!?!?!

OP is not the one calculating all the data, people are submitting it to him.

Or, if your point is that you don't care and that's why the Dragoons arent listed, then perhaps you should take your own advice and read my post. Saying "I could care less" does NOT imply that you don't care about the topic at hand. Actually, it means that you DO care. Perhaps you meant that you "couldn't care less"?

I'm not going to have the argument with you about whether or not tournament medals or map medals are more important. It's not worth taking the time with you, hulmey.

As for your Best Clan by points, you wanted it to be some sort of officialish type of thing. I don't. Simple as that.
