However I would avoid at all costs the phrase "slip into something more comfortable" as thats normally a line used by a washed up 40 year old has been, ie by the sounds of her..., her.
Splash out on a bottle of wine! Box of wine made me piss myself, you'll look like really CHEAP CNT otherwise.
But funny as hell.
And if you're serious, well it could work.
But a high class prozzie is the more traditional route.

We have a Hungarian bloke at work whose simplistic attitude towards women is enlightening to me at least.
He works on site and came back to the office one day with a bunch of flowers.
'What have you got flowers for Balazarsh?' I asked him.
'It's for my girlfriend' he replied.
'Very romantic' I told him

I wouldn't play the "we can't do this" angle. Props to you for planning ahead but saying "we can't do this" is what WOMEN SAY just before they do it, not men. It's also dishonest and unless you're a really good liar it will sound forced..
I've heard more than one girl say that one of the things they respect about guys is that they just go for what they want. As hard as it is to do it really is the best strategy, just don't be a passive wuss about it.

That could work but the fact that nobody else shows up could make it appear that you have low social value. Also, if she starts asking around it could backfire in that more people would show up or she would figure out that you weren't being honest. It may get her alone with you but it may be difficult to move to the next level from those pretenses.
