This was all discussed in the CLA before it got started, and everyone agreed that to start it out we had to go with the doubles league. Like Jp said, we have to actually complete a full season and see how it goes before we should even think about discussing any changes in the format.

JP,

is there any way you could hold back on updating the Standings until the end of the played week? I think it would be less work for you, and it would be nice to see the results after each weeks games are wrapped up for everyone...it gives the players a clearer vision of where they stand from week to week....some teams finish their games quick while others are slower, and it would be nice to see updates uniformly.

just my opinion....comments?

btw, great work on the league...it has made CC that much better!

I always though JP was just doing an update about 1 time a week. Whatever games had ended he would count up, and those not ended would be counted next time he checked. Seems logical.

Some games take a while to complete. Almost all games in Week 1 are done except for one that will likely take another week or so to complete. Several other series are already finished in Week 2. Unless we fix settings to Esc, which we all agree not to, there's no way to tell when they'll finish. Right now if I did post end of Week 1, I'm not sure how relevant it would be as some teams are already on week 4.

Updated, interesting to note that the top 2 clans THOTA and ID face off as we speak in week 3.

shouldn't it go by winning percentages and not wins as we have played less games :?:

think about it, how can we be half a point back with a 70% win rate :?

the system is flawed or you made a mistake, we played 9 less games and all we have to do it win about 50% or 5 of 9 and be tied for 1st? again, this cant be right mathmatically if you go by winning % and stat odds.

The system is not flawed if it was intentionally designed to rank clans according to total wins. Some rankings use winning percentage, others use total wins. Just because you want to be on top doesn't mean the system is flawed, Blitzaholic.

it is not that I want to be on top, it is a matter of prinicple and understanding, i am confused :?

we played 9 games less than 1st place and if we won 5 and lost 4 we would be tied???????

makes no sense as winning 5 and losing 4 is not that good really, but just a wince above average, yet , according to this, if we do that, we tied for 1st? doesnt that seem odd?

and 3rd place team says 11-8 and only 1 game back???????
it should be more than 1 game back from 12-7, say the 12-7 team lost, and is now 12-8, that is 1 game, but still better than 11-8, so it should be at least 1.5 from the 12-7 record
and 11-8 would be even more back then a 7-3 record.

Uses the same calculation as American Baseball. Done because not all clans play every week. Hence an early bye week would compromise total wins.

Think about it this way then.

ID is 5 games over .500
THOTA is only 4 games over .500

Would a clan who currently sits at 1-0 be top spot? (rhetorical question)

You can rectify the situation in your current matchup. Let your games do the talking.

Why don't you just finish your games and then we'll be able to see who is really in first. This is just a temp scoreboard anyways.

Oh, and just FYI -- GB = ((WinsA-WinsB) + (LossesB-LossesA)) / 2

Thus.. you are

((12-7) + (3-7) ) / 2

( (5) + (-4) ) /2

(1) / (2)

= .5 games back

12-7 to 12-8 is only a move of a .5 game.

ID can join as slowly as they like, I am watching the games though.

12-7 vs 11-8, if the second team wins, being 1 back is now even. 12-8 and 12-8. It's only a full game if the teams are playing each other.

The third place team = (12 - 11) + (8 - 7) / 2

(1) + (1) /2

=2/2
= 1 game back.

Games, assuming you have played equal games, is all based off of the loss column.

Thus, if team one was 10-5 and team two was 11-4, team two would be 1 game back because that's the difference in the loss column.

It's just math.

Nice and clear knight. Not a big fan of baseball, but the questions are good. Keep winning at 70% and I'm sure your clan will do just fine Blitz.

oh, ok, thanks

makes more sense now, it is a half a point, not a point

I was getting confused
that 12-7
and 11-8 only 1 game back?
i was thinking, huh? if dragoons played a game and lost, that is a game, but they would be 12-8 which is better than 11-8 and 0.5 points ahead still, which is right, but the game played was played, yet, they lose lets say, but are still ahead, but if the other team was 1 back, and 1st places loses, see my dilemma, I was over thinking it, i get it now, it would be half a point

but, I see what you are saying now, forget it, i am driving myself mad

I get IT  yippee =D>

All of the ID vs THOTA games have been filled since yesterday and they were sent late last Sunday to us. Let's not exacerbate unnecessarily.

Yes Blitz is obsessed with being #1....

But he's totally right here! Not sure about the baseball argument, doesn't the team with a better win % rank higher?

Whatever, it's funny to see Thota in second, even funnier that the Dragoons are in first!

Looks like Immortal Assassins might be the first clan to go 10-0 in any week. :D 1 game is being remade, as it was made a standard and nobody caught it. LOL But barring a loss there should be 10-0. :D

No. Baseball assumes 50/50 split. As was said, by your logic a team that is 1-0 would be in first place.

Right now, Dragoons have 5 more wins and 4 more losses than THOTA. Meaning THOTA should be a half game behind, as they are.

The standings are correct, but who cares? It only matters who is on top at the end. If THOTA is that concerned with their current place, perhaps they can finish off a few more games?

we are playing against thota right now... for week 3, so im sure it will be straightened out soon. although even by win percentages we are in second. we are not doing bad at all, and im shocked that people are surprised that we are doing well, lol.
