Nah, I received a warning for that. I got the three day ban because, apparently, I put the title of one of Twill's essays in my sig. He didn't notice it for a couple months until right after he decided to give me a warning for quoting your sig. Still really isn't fair because that was in my sig long before we put up these new personal info rules.
I was thinking about making a thread in C&A incriminating all the mods for calling me "timmy" (my first name), but I think it would be too subtle for them to notice what i'm trying to prove.
Now I feel bad for
a) finding the essay and alerting you guys to its existence
b) still having its title in my essay

Yeah i'm surprised I was the only one who got caught. If I remember correctly there were a couple other people who also had it in their sigs.

To be honest, most of the users killed it. All the interesting threads have seeped into usergroups such as The Royal University or splinter forums like Pile Of Awesome. Now, we are just left with a spam infested junk hole, where Jaun and GabonX etc. just keep spamming with every news article they read that supports right-wing values.

I don't think juán is right-wing at all - he just doesn't for the most part trust people in authority. As most of the buzz of late has been about Obama, who is generally perceived by people in the U.S. as being left-wing, this currently translates as a right-wing viewpoint.
I won't attempt to defend GabonX from the charge however. I don't think he would himself.

This place won't be dead for awhile, a lot of dedicated tourney players, and organizers like the different competition.
The options given are not a reason, just an excuse...I chose Pile of Awesome, only because I like the games, Battleship, Scrabble, Yautzee, and plenty of other games..and the forums are pretty cool too.

The mindless news articles at least have some reading material , in between games and turns

Funny, I thought this was the place for non-conquer club related conversation. When was the last time you started a topic that anyone was interested in?

Actually I pride myself on being an independant thinker. I think for myself and I don't get my talking points from a public persona or all encompassing ideology. I supported Gore/McCain in 2000 and Kerry in 2004 although in retrospect I think Kerry would have probably been as bad, if not worse than Bush. In my opinion Bush's finest years were his last two, which were ironically the ones where he was doing the worst in the polls. I guess he got a reality check. Anyhow, the troop surge has been an enormous success and he's walked out of Washington with Iraq looking better than it has for centuries.
There are a number of conservative issues I won't touch, gays and abortion being two of them. I also happen to be an environmentalist and I've posted a couple of threads about global warming, ie. my argument that stating man is to small to cause climate change is like saying germs are to small to make you sick.
I also don't think the Government has any business outlawing drugs. The war on drugs is part of a larger war on personal freedom and if a person breaks the law while intoxicated they should be penalized for that crime, not for an arbitrary possession charge.
What you won't get me to bend on is in my resolve to support my country, it's military and to enable individuals to empower themselves. If in doubt look to the bill of rights, not someone elses interpretation of it but the document itself. It's all there.

Out of interest, what are your views on this:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009 ... olent-pornPersonally, I disagree with the law... what goes on in the private sphere should remain in the private sphere, and people should have the right to look at whatever the hell they want on the net.. I don't think everyone that likes violent pornography necessary is violent but once their actions reach the public sphere, it is of course a problem. Child porn is another thing and I understand prosecutions that take place over those who look at it because child porn views and child molesting/grooming on the internet in the majority of cases go hand in hand. I agree with the fact that the police aren't going to prosecute too many under the new ruling...
Anyway, don't accuse me of not contributing to the forum

I've done a fair bit around these parts.

I don't think you can blame media on the actions that a person takes. While I don't think that it's a good thing that media like this exists I don't think you should be able to prosecute some one for looking at it.
Making a note of a potentially dangerous individual may be in order but he shouldn't be persecuted just for looking at it.

I was thinking about saying that too, but then when was the last time that anyone cared what I had to say either?

But I do disagree on both of these topics!

Do agree here though. Except I believe that the war on drugs is actually about making money.

I do not pledge allegiance to my nations flag. I pledge my allegience to my home, to my country, and to the ideals upon which we all want to believe are true of this nation. Equality and Freedom!!!! But I will never ever pledge my allegiance to my government.
It sounds bad I know, but if you think about what I am saying I think it's a healthy and smart stance to take.

I think GabonX really is a free thinker. He doesn't fit into the Conservative catagory IMO...
