actually, the mayan calendar ends in 2012 and we have assumed that to mean what your saying.. we actually have no idea why the mayans ended their calendar at 2012, they probably figured that they could finish the rest of it later....

I'm training to be a meteorologist and I can tell you right now that they don't know shit.

I mean, sure, they know lots about weather, but not nearly enough to even begin to understand it. They take what we like to call "SWAG"s: Scientific Wild Ass Guesses.

Point being the fact that meteorologists can't figure it out doesn't mean that there's no scientific cause.
