So... 3 more of them? And the later books got better?

Maybe I should pick it up again, I, too, am one of those who hate to leave things unfinished.

read em years ago..........finished listening to the audio books last month. All unabridged. I got no idea how many hours that is

read the first 3 books,gave up half way through number 4,first few were great then it kind of fizzeld out

read them all upto winters heart about 1o years ago, will try to get the rest. all seemed very lord of the rings in places but still enjoyed them.

Just got it from the library, apparently they were planning on making it one book but due to the length broke it into 3 instead, this book is like 780 pages, so if this were to be only one book we were looking at over 2400 pages. In hardcover this sucker would weigh about 40 lbs. Would have hated to work in a bookstore if that was published.

Already read it. And, just wow. Just, wow.

Read them all (twice through I believe though that probably has more to do with not having enough reading material here in China) and agree that they were a bit crap in the middle but picked up wonderfully towards the end. Also agree that Jordon was not a brilliant writer, but his character development was truly top class.

Wheel of Time is also great if you enjoy playing Elder Scrolls (Oblivion). You can pretty much create any of Jordon's characters to the letter and spend many a happy hour pretending you are an Aes Sedai's warder..or whatever floats your boat.

Fox, I agree with you somewhat here, I too am reading them because I hate not to finish a series. I really enjoyed the first book, but they seemed to get worse from there. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the Sword of Truth series.

Hey, this thread got bumped and now I'm seeing this reply for this first time...I never remember to recheck threads in this forum.

My two primary reasons for disliking the Sword of Truth series:
1. The man (Goodkind) was obsessed with women being raped. Seriously. Every book, over and over and over.
2. Philosophy disguised as fiction - ugh! If I wanted to read all about objectivism, I would just read Ayn Rand.

I read like the first three books. I barely remember them anymore. I should pick em up again. I am currently reading The Way of Shadows written by Brent Weeks. Thank Odin that he doesn't write encyclopedias, I need my reading to be a little light for when I get on the tread mill at the gym.

I also just finished The Dwarves written by Markus Heitz. I wish I was fluent in German, because I sure would have loved reading that book in its native language. It was a pretty good translation though. I guess there is another book out there called War of the Dwarves.

From what I remember from the Wheel Of Time books that I read, Rand was kind of like Jesus with a sword.

I don't think I will pick those books up again. But I am going to pick up the RA Salvatore Dark Elf books again since there are a lot of books that I have missed out on. Dri'zzt Du'urden was kick ass!

Jesus. With a sword. I guess you could go with that, as a loose way (VERY loose) of looking at it.

My dad got me into these books like half a year ago. Currently on book 3 just after Thom and Mat meet up in Tar Valon

I believe some people have tried to create a WoT map for CC but it has always failed due to copyright issues.

Ps. finished book 12 a few days ago. Epic stuff.

Ummm....rape scenes over and over???....what I remember are the mistresses of pain dressed in blood red leather inflicting pain on men repeatedly.
