it just happens, I don't think they should get penalized for it. making a mistake is only human.

I guess you would be the same person screaming when you get penalized for joining a wrong game.

just my 2 cents..

well if i messed up the tourney and joined a wrong game, yes i should get penalized in my opinion, regardless of who it is, human or not

I won't be penalizing the player who joined the wrong games. Especially if they brought it up themselves. It is in human nature to make typing mistakes.

Saying that does not give the player card-blanche in not paying attention. The extreme attention IS required when you are figuring out the game numbers.

i might consider some penalty IF it was done intentional, or IF it is a repeated offense.

:( It is very disappointing to see so many people dropping off.

Just the note: For the future, I will prohibit entry to any of my tournaments for players who have dropped off.

HeY andrew what about a tourney same as this but for tripps?

Running a league is extremely demanding, especially when people do not join on times.

I am already regretting for letting play some of the players.

Even though I believe that league is the most fair type of the tournament, I don't think I will be running any more leagues from now on. Maybe double limo. Or maybe have some little helpers in every group ;)

Finally all players are in the last sets.

Tables are updated to reflect the recent games results.

Looking at the last table of standings I noticed that we are short on points.
Karlo Veliki and LEONE have won 6 games and lost only 1 (two games are curently running and one we were suposed to play against mandalorian2298 & kwanton - but they quit from the tournament).

What I want to say is that we have won above mentioned team in game 1591648 but as I can see you gave us only 0.6 points instead of 1 MP, which is not fair.

0.6 MP is supposed to be given for the games that were planed with this team and never even started because they quit and not for the games allready finished (either won or lost).

I cannot give you 1MP for that, because it would not be fair to the teams, who didn't play against them.

If we have a drop out, then all theirs games are replaced with 0.6MPs.

Technically, the proper process should be - they are stuck out from the table as they never existed. And the group becomes 5 players group.

But because we have points transfer, I need to allocate some points for EVERY game and make it fair for everyone.

In fact, because your winning percent is higher then 60%, you will get more, then 0.6MPs.

Please check out rules section (first post) of this thread.

...result of giving 0,6 MP to everyone is that one team from group A that has lost from them in game 1557627 is awarded with 0,6 MP even that thay didn't deserve it and, for example we have been punished with 0,4 MP....think that isn't right. ;-((

Would like to hear some more opinions from our and other groups!!!

teams that who didn't play with them will get 0,6 and that is good for them.... it is beter than 0 points if thay lose!

You see it from the following view:

The team dropped off; the group still consists of 6 players, so we need to patch the results.

I see it from the following view:

The team dropped off; the group now consists of 5 players. The MPs are allocated for the sake of points transfer only.

Arguably, the latter view provides the more fair environment. Just because not everyone had chance to play same games with the drop off team.

And 1 more argument:
If we would not remove drop off team results, then theoretically, the drop off team has a chance to proceed to the next round :) ...

Well, we beat them twice so are certainly pissed that we're getting short changed on it.

Of course, here's the irony. I tried to join with a guy that I often play doubles with but he wasn't allowed because he was not high enough rank. Not saying for one second that I'm not completely happy with the player I got paired with because I totally am. At any rate, first game gets started and kwanton is lower ranked than the guy I wanted to originally be my partner (less than 1600) and mandalorian is less than 1900. Then we promptly beat them twice and get all of .6 pts for our efforts.

Here's a question, why the hell did they drop out? There were people on the waiting list and these guys bailed?

I understand the reasoning behind not penalizing teams that didn't get a chance to play them, however.

Well, we're obviously bitter because losing those two points pretty much takes us out of contention. I actually pm'd one of those guys and his response was "We suck at doubles and didn't want to keep losing points" Very lame to say the least. None the less, I suppose if that was truly the case, those two points were bound to not mean much as possibly everyone else may have beaten them as well. At very least I think it only fair that we not lose the penalty for starting a game against them (that we ultimately won) late. I mean, we're pretending like they never existed, right?
