Maybe my vision's failing me...could have sworn it hit somewhere else. but still obviously a fake vader. as he would have just choke gripped the guy who grabbed the gun and sent the other two flying across the room.Lucarilover240 wrote:In the firt skit, he got punched in the head, and in the second, he got kicked in the ass, how would a cup help?strike wolf wrote:Please that was obviously a fake darth vader. I don't think I've read anything by Robert Heinlein. actually even though i have a moderate interest in the subject of sci-fi the only books I've read that were about the future were a Brave New World and Farenheit 451. I didn't like Brave New World but I did reasonably enjoy Farenheit 451.jonesthecurl wrote:PLAYER57832 wrote:which one?jonesthecurl wrote:I think probably my favourite author is Robert Heinlein.
Meaning which book?
Hmm, difficult.
I think, ultimately it would be between Citizen of the Galaxy and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.
But I am a huge fan, I even bought and read all the way through Us, the Future. and Grumbles from the Grave - and I've even read The Number of the Beast about three times.
Most of the others I've read at least a dozen. I got Tunnel in the Sky from the Children's Book CLub when I was about 9, and have read that until it has quite literally fallen apart.
No but I've heard of the movie called a kid in King Arthur's Court.jonesthecurl wrote:Did you read Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? If that's not SF, I don't know what is.
Do not, repeat do not watch that movie.strike wolf wrote:No but I've heard of the movie called a kid in King Arthur's Court.jonesthecurl wrote:Did you read Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? If that's not SF, I don't know what is.
I'm very serious in what I've said. The two I mentioned are the only two I can think of. Wiat I remember a third actually, It was called A Wrinkle in Time.
I did? I don't remember that.jonesthecurl wrote:Do not, repeat do not watch that movie.strike wolf wrote:No but I've heard of the movie called a kid in King Arthur's Court.jonesthecurl wrote:Did you read Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? If that's not SF, I don't know what is.

I mentioned Yankee 'cos you said you're a fan of Sam Clemens.
jonesthecurl wrote:Mark Twain's real name.
Do you know how he chose his pen-name?
OOh! Do i win a prize?jonesthecurl wrote:Right answer. The Mississipi moves about a lot - and knowing where a passage was safe yesterday doesn't mean it's safe today. So you have to "sound" the depth of the river.
In Clemens' s day, you'd do it with a rope. When it was two fathoms (? or maybe yards?) deep, the sounder would call out "Mark Twain!" ( Twain being a word for "two").
He was of course a riverboat man himself for a while, and he remembered the phrase when he was looking for a pen name.
