Meowth is typically grouped with Team Rocket. Is there any reason that you know of why you weren't? Or are you actually scum?

This lends more weight to the idea of a jester. No one with any knowledge of Pokemon would claim Meowth as a 3rd party neutral. Meowth isn't neutral.

I'm waiting for the vigilante NK (hopefully).

Sounds like a very viable setup. Obviously we can't be sure unless we found a trainer, but if they are recruiters, I doubt they will be coming forward any time soon.

This might become a very difficult game. If none of us have powers until 'caught', then the scum might have free reign for these first few nights.
100% agreed with this. I don't think all pokemon start neutral, but probably most of them do. Since AoG has acted like a complete douche (yet again), it's best if we NK him. If he's still alive by tomorrow, we lynch him (Unless there are bettter candidates). Simples.

AoG, simple question for you, and without using any internet searches:

There is one pokemon professor we all know about, and his name is Oak...

However, can you tell me of the second ( in the timeline, of course ) Pokemon professor in the game and show?

I know the answer, but fail to understand its significance to the game. In case this line of questioning was going somewhere, I won't post up the answer.

I think he may have wanted to know how aware he was of Pokemon in general. I guess it's useful information. Or Freezie is distracting us.

Cities are colors (also: Pallet Town), professors are trees, Cubone uses the skull of a dead Kanghiskhan, Brock is a rapist, Misty is a hooker and Ash is a bitch.

Other than Misty as a hooker, that was right. So why would you claim Meowth as 3rd party and not Team Rocket related? He's always seen in the TV show and games as being with a member of Team Rocket. Any insight? Was it just the mod being silly?

I indeed wanted to know AoG's knowledge about the game. Basicly, my thought was if he failed that easy question, his own claim of meowth would have been more beleivable.

Unvote

I now agree to the NK instead of the lynch.

However I have nothing else to go with

Alright. Nk'ing AoG is acceptable.

However, fact remains that he has first claimed COP, then third party (with none other then Meowth).
The thing about this, is that Shaggydan seems to ignore it completely.
ShaggyDan wrote:The claim is believable IMO. Bulbasaur was a third party, Onyx was a third party, Charizard is claimed to be a third party. Although the claim is believable the way AoG has been throwing around FOS like candy at halloween is a bit concerning. I'm not quite sure how to proceed.

Looking at the amount of 'wild' pokemon, makes me think the setup might be a lot more complex than we thought. It could be a matter of trainers catching wild pokemon to make factions? *Shrugs*
Shaggy even seems to forgive AoG for claiming cop, when this feat could have easily had the real cop come out and counterclaim. Instead, Shaggy seems rather focused on ignoring AoG completely, and trying to divert attention away and into flavour spec.

And yes, I think it's a very plausible scenario with multiple recruiters and a bunch of 'wild' pokémon.

Unvote, vote Shaggydan

Since there's a good chance that AoG gets NKed, can't we wait for him to flip before we pressure Shaggy? If AoG flips something that does not indicate he has a group, then we can't hold Shaggy responsible for his "defense"; if he does, then you can make that case on D3.

Perhaps we can go back to pressuring D1's scummiest players? Kratos' top 4 was Fissk, Hank, Jonty and AoG if I recall correctly. Mine was close to that (Fissk, Hank, Nagerous and AoG). It seems we've decided to let AoG be handled later, so we could talk about Hank now.

I wasn't trying to make a defence for him. At this point he hadn't claimed Meowth. First he claimed being 'pikachu a pro-town cop' then changed his answer to 'a 3rd party role'. He may have just been confused and mistook 'wild pokemon' as being pro-town. It was after I posted this that he claimed he was Meowth. At the time the idea of him claiming 'Pikachu a third-party wild pokemon cop' could make sense. If we were under the impression that wild pokemon get caught by trainers then that faction gets to use that ability.

As far as trying to deflect into flavour spec, I think it's pretty important if we have a game with wild pokemon being captured by trainers that's a pretty big factor in influencing how we look at the game.

Point of truth: I was one of the ones thinking he was very suspicious at the end of day one, and would have voted for him if we didn't already have someone who claimed to be a lyncher.

Although now after seeing him claim Meowth it begs the question why did he lie about being Pikachu at the beggining. And ruins the integrity of all his claims.

I still agree with a vig night killing him if possible... but then again we have to be careful if there are any malicious bus drivers out there. We could take the gamble and assume he's not a jester?

I don't think we should gamble like that. It seems incredibly likely that he is a jester. I agree that we should go back to Day 1 arguments and see where everything stands. I'll post up something this afternoon - I'm a bit pressed for time.

wow, this thread has taken off during my weekend vacation.

Yes, I agree about the case on AoG as jester. Something tells me there is a jester in this game, and AoG is a likely candidate.

I find the concept of this game quite clever. Seeing how there are all these wild pokemons lying around, it is very likely that all pokemon roles start out neutral and then they change alignment based on who recruits them. So that means there must be humans recruiting them, possibly Ash, Misty, their friends, Team Rocket, etc. (I don't know my pokemon characters, so I take it you know what I mean). So it would make sense that Meow would start neutral and then get recruited to Team Rocket or soemthing like that. Despite the fact that it is considered an "evil" pokemon, I remember it being said that "no pokemon start out evil, it's the trainers who get them to do good or bad things." So yes, Meow starting out neutral seems reasonable.

Also, I would rather not lynch AoG in case he is the jester. I'd rather pursue someone else, possibly Hank ("Does anyone know anything about Mafia Alliances"), and other than that I don't know who else sounds scummy, and don't know why nag or jonty have scum tags on them by other players.

Hanks comment about "Mafia alliances" actually makes a decent amount of sense now in the context of neutral pokemon. It could have been a term used in his role PM stating that he needed to recruit pokemon to form an alliance. This would make him scum.

Based on the original arguments against him, the additional insight that our speculation about the game's setup provides, and the fact that he hasn't posted in days, I will place my vote on Hank.

Unvote (if needed) vote Hank
