of course that group will be for raiding

Well, you can count me in.
Unfortunately, the lack of a forum/PMs plus the crap scoring system makes it a bit hard to mess with them...
Actually, the site's overall bad quality might make raiding a pain.

That would be me... I'd actually typed in "conquerclub>this" but their usernames automatically remove the symbols.
I went into 50 games and posted
Hey, btw.
http://www.conquerclub.com is a similar site, but is much much, better...it has more features, the maps look 100x better (because half of the ones on this site are literally rip offs we have evidence to show it), and it is also free...

Yeah, they do not have a forum. I can't think of to much other than just advertising CC through pms and game chat. I don't even know if they have PM's.

No PMs either.
Just copy and paste stuff into the gamechat of every game.

They've got loads of adds on that site... what if lack buys one of the add spots for CC?

Speaking of plagiarization, those pics were posted months ago ObX, and you probably didn't even draw them. Good going, hypocrite.

just read their map making rule page. read this and laugh.
As you draw your map, please keep these required guidelines in mind:
Your image must not contain any copyrighted material. All images used must either be designed yourself or public domain.
hypocrites... lets bring this site to its knees

make sure you guys sign up for cc personal army. this is great practice for other thing in the future.
Goal: advertise cc and take away as many members as possible
Strategies: make 6 player games that way we spread the word to more then one person

You probably could. But it would require some significant effort and tenacity. Probably a lot of headaches. A decent amount of time and maybe some money. I don't know if it's worth fighting that battle (at least for individual volunteer cartographers who probably don't have legal consult established).
I wouldn't be surprised though if a nicely-worded (i.e. threatening) letter to the site owners might get them removed. The THREAT or POTENTIAL for legal troubles will many times eliminate a problem.
Well, AFAIK this was tried by one of our mapmakers (can't remember which, but there was a thread about this same thing in the foundry forums a while back). They practically said "ha ha, you can't do anything to us, watch us rip off your hard work to make some more money out of our crappy copy-cat site".
While all of the word-of-mouth recruiting going on seems like a good idea, their click-through rates have probably increased dramatically with all the new members joining and what-not. I'd rather not give these guys any more money than they've already gotten from their blatant theft.
I also think one could contact their hosting provider and make them aware that they will be made a party to the lawsuit when it is filed if they don't shut down the site. Send them copies of the cease and desist order that was previously sent and ignored.
Don't we have a lawyer or two on this forum? I'm certainly no legal expert, but I think this is a slam dunk.

I'd go more along the lines of "the thief has been notified of our policies."

so, it seems that those guys there read the game chat as often as the ones here. Anyone got any lively conversations from the majority of them?

Be wary of Trolling other websites. It is nothing something Conquer Club condones.
