Just to remind everyone that this tournament has been reduced to a 48-player tournament. I've already made the standings board; all we need is one more player, then I'll make the groups and the games. Hopefully we should be able to start in the next 12 hours (a day before Thanksgiving)!

Yes! You are the 48th player! Thanks for joining! I will most likely be making the games late tonight, so within the next 6 hours.

All of your choices have been received; thanks for your quick responses.
So, obviously I haven't obtained tournament privileges yet (so I can't make games yet), and Thanksgiving day is ending soon...

So, to keep the spirit of holidays alive, I've decided that this tournament will also celebrate Christmas, when many people also roast pigs. So, Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays I guess!

Tournament Update
11/29: Rotation (Round) 2 begins for Groups B, C, F, and J. Once a group finishes Rotation 1, I will do my best to get Rotation 2 started as quickly as possible.
It appears that most Roasters are beginning play with the most complex maps; we'll see where that leaves us in the Final group...
For those that lost their opening game, don't worry; almost ALL the roasters won ALL of their opening games, meaning your other 2 opponents also have probably lost a point (so you're still on even footing). Keep in mind there's also a second place spot that advances to the next round (the last player eliminated).
Consult the standings farther down on the first page for all details.

The Roast is running smoothly, as most groups are finishing Rotation 2, while Groups B, E, and J are already in Rotation 3. Group G, we're still waiting for one more game to finish, then we'll kick off your second round. Just to make clear,
there's no limit to the number of rotations; play continues until only one player remains.I've created a list of the tournament games, organized by group. The list can be found on the fourth post of this tournament page.Players have been asking whether BETA maps may be used. This segment has been added to the rules under Gameplay.
A BETA map may not be selected until it is no longer a BETA map.
I've also added a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list, found on the first post.So if you have any questions let me know,
I'll be updating the standings almost every day.

I've updated the standings as well as the Games list. Note that I will now only be updating standings for particular groups once the group's rotation finishes (so it's possible a letter might not be added to a particular player despite the standings being updated) so mistakes or confusion can be avoided.
Notice that as players are eliminated, the scoring becomes more extreme and winning becomes more important. For example, i
f there's only 2 people in a group, if the piggie beats the Roaster, then the Roaster loses a point (because every piggie in the group, despite there being only 1, defeats the Roaster). This works both ways; if the Roaster wins his one game for the rotation, he gains a point.Questions will be answered if this is confusing
The Roaster cannot lose a point unless all piggies in the group win in their 1v1 games against him; if this occurs, the Roaster loses one point (indicated by the letter P).
The Roaster gains a point if he defeats all piggies in their 1v1 games.

I think there should have been a bonus for not losing a single game first rotation...meaning I roasted all three of my piggies three games in a row

Points are
not gained if the Roaster has not lost any points:
The Roaster gains a point if he defeats all piggies in their 1v1 games. This is indicated by removing a letter from the scoreboard. If a player gains a point when there are no letters next to his name (not having lost any points thus far) on the scorecard, then he does not gain a point.
This is designed to limit the advantage the initial Roasters have. If the initial roasters (who only became Roasters due to score) gained a point from the get-go, plus each piggie losing a point, there would
already, after the first rotation, be a
2 point differential, which is hard to recover from.
That's just my philosophy on it, to keep things reasonably fair. Otherwise 75% of the players in the tournament (the piggies) would
definitelyNOT enjoy starting as a piggie, which is already tough as it is.
