that is incorrect I'm at L-3 on the 10th day. Any real indication on lynching should be done with 8. Which i am quite far from. Still thank you for taking some personal action to focus with the game.

With 15 alive, it takes 8 votes to lynch. If 8 votes are not reached by the deadline, then the first player with 5+ votes will be lynched.

Deadline for Day 1 is April 03, 2014.

what if someone had five votes on them, someone unvoted, and then someone else had five votes at deadline? Would the first player still be lynched?

Pretty sure this is nit picking. I would think its obvious, when the dead line is hit. Who ever has 5 votes is lynched. If 2 people have 5 votes, who ever received 5 votes first would be lynched. (if it would be first person that GOT 5 votes and not who currently has the most votes at the end then that would be super silly lynching)

Ok, since you want some pressure I will add some and vote x-stor-x

The whole purpose of joke voting is to get something started, so you know who to pressure. How else do you propose to go about deciding who to put pressure on? Pick someone completely at random?

Bah fastposted. My question @ xstorx stands though. Might still vote but need to count em up.

How else do you propose we break the ice then xstor? Feel free to ask a series of questions. Or well... um, yeah.

You wanted pressure though, and you seem to have put your hand up. I can but oblige:

vote removed.

So why the rush? What makes you so desperate to do away with the early game?

I understand you wouldn't be lynched immediately, but you'd be on death row with the lynching of someone else as your only chance for reprieve. So, in a game like this, how many votes is considered claim time: 6,4,3??? If we still want to keep a no lynch option on the table, it's got to be something less than 5.

Up to 4 votes already, x-stor-x. Anyone putting a 5th vote on him will look mighty scummy, in my eyes.

Multiple mafia in a 15 player game?

Actually, let me point out some things in that sentence that may actually show more correctly.

People who have waited for a chance to take power see this as an opportunity to take control. Others liked the mundane balance and want to bring the old-style back. The new arrivals want to take over the village for themselves.

So possibly 3 factions against town.

So more like 2/2/2/9? or 3/2/2/8? (Depending on what type of factions there are, Cult? Survivors? Killers?

Unvote (We are going past the joke vote stage WAY too quickly)

But back onto the current votes, LOL so many people followed my votes, can you say "Baaaa"? I think we got some sheep in there somewhere. Sort of seems like people already want him dead on an innocent vote.

FP'd by MudPuppy

I think I am going to look at the "reasons" people hopped onto this bandwagon so quickly, I think we might of caught a non-townie somewhere in it.

Why do you make it sound like im in a dire situation? Are you concerned for me? As for the votes thrown at me, none really ring any bells as far as something they are committed too. Most of this has been reaction to my posting. (hmmm generating discussion with out joke votes INTERESTING). As far as claiming, i'd only pressure for a claim if i was sure the lynch candidate had failed to convince me of their alignment being town. (obviously a bit more complicated, such im not going to force a claim on someone who has 2 votes yet i have done this accidentally) I believe in pressing people for reads and reactions.

Yes, I'm concerned for you because you were 1 vote away from the town losing their no lynch option... which I do consider a relatively dire consequence so early in the game before any reads can be made. I have no read on you yet... but odds dictate you are more likely town.

well we can have the mod clarify, but just because someone hits 5 votes at some point doesn't mean they get lynched if everyone ends up unvoting said person latter. You would be right to be worried at 5-7 votes.

Do you have any questions for me? Do you have any thoughts regarding the people who wagon'd onto me?

I expect more from you. As far as my play, i will continue to push in a manner and state my opinion. If you have issue with it, then make a case on it. Simply responding with a 1 liner to generalize and insult stands as poor taste to me, and in fact i would even go as far to say that does make you look scummy.

Vote Anark, first real vote of the game I believe.

While others are saying the same reason (one seems a joke and other at least clarifies). But to me, this post by Anark seems scummy.

1.) He is the last to continue the bandwagon.
2.) He literally sheeps other's reasons to vote without adding anything new.
3.) He seems to also want to either waste more time in joke vote stage or go for pressuring out a possible lynch.

Perhaps I am a bit crazy with my reads, but this is Day 1 and bandwagoning is a clear sign of possible scum. Right now the scum do not have a chance to communicate and put together a plan so some (Anark) may try to push for an early lynch and call it a Day 1 "mistake" to further their goal of eliminating town.

Let me make something clear... Your opinion of me meNs nothing... and in the few games I have read with you in them, I don't believe you have EVER made a correct accusation... so... Play better, not more.

BAM! Overreaction to a simple vote onto him, X-Stor-X did not rage at 4 votes, Anark seems a bit edgy with a single vote on him on Day 1.

The question is, do you know me? Because if not, you'll quickly learn that I have many theories over the course of the game as we get more info and with the info we have at the moment, you're the scummiest and now with this new post I think I confirmed my suspicion.

I do not know how new you are, but overreaction is a dead giveaway that you have something to hide!

I am interested into finding out where information on you leads to now.

Nothing more on the matter needs to be said, you overreacted to a simple vote, now you got me curious as to what you have to hide.

I could be wrong but the rules seem pretty clear to me:
superkeener wrote:With 15 alive, it takes 8 votes to lynch. If 8 votes are not reached by the deadline, then the first player with 5+ votes will be lynched.

To me this means if anyone reaches 5, there will be a lynch. If, later in the day, someone else reaches 8... then they are lynched immediately. However, if someone else gets more votes than the first person to get 5, but less than 8, then I believe the first person will be lynched at the end of the day.... even if everyone unvotes him... that's how I read it, anyway.
X-Stor-X wrote:Do you have any questions for me? Do you have any thoughts regarding the people who wagon'd onto me?

Not at the moment, at least. I don't think too much of the first 4 votes on you (at this point)... but I would've on the 5th, which never happened. FYI, I'm a mafia noob... This is my second game and I still don't have a good feel for D1 investigations and am learning as I go.

Woah. That all escalated very quickly. Is this how its normally done here?

Early thoughts: The case on x-stor-x is a bit ridiculous. I don't necessarily blame him for trying to get the game started quickly, even though that's apparently a big no-no. The people who quickly bandwagon'd him will bear close watching, especially Anarkistdream, who gets an FOS from me.

I think jak is on to something with the multiple factions. From the flavor, I'd say that the ones who liked mundane balance would be town? Not sure on how to position the other two though.

Nark, Nark.... I've never seen you jump this quick. Its like he said jump and you were like "how high?" I know you play aggressively but still ..... Also I understand that Joke Voting is important to some here, For me it never really worked, always that time where I tried to figure out where it ended. So its not bad to start a game seriously. Yes it did escalate quickly. Part of it is Stor is new to this site and plays contrary to what we are use to, which in turn ruffles a lot of feathers. I have a love hate relationship with the joke vote stage as well. The pro to the joke vote stage is that it eases everyone into debate rather then everyone throwing their opinions out as if they mean something day one.

I also agree the bandwagon on Stor has gone abit to quickly especially this early.

Lol for the record my vote against xstor was a joke vote although that doesn't seem to be in question at the moment.

@xstor yes I have a question for you - are you scum? (Note the sarcasm) congrats on moving beyond the joke vote stage rather quickly

@jak where was the overreaction? He responded to a post regarding him/his play, maybe he's town maybes he's not but didn't xstor have the chance to respond to posts regarding himself?

As for the multiple factions I didn't read it as more than two but I could have interpreted it wrong I'm playing on my phone so quoting is a pain but the last line of the opening scene naming the new party read to me as the same people that the mod opened the paragraph with

Anyways... unvote and carry on

No, it wasn't really in question at the time, so why bring it up at all? The assumption was that most of them were joke votes. It wasn't really needed for you to specify that. Are you feeling like you will need to justify your actions before they're even called into question? Seems a little defensive to me.

Typical noob misinterpretation. Those of us who have been playing as long as we have know that, by not listing out all reasoning at the beginning, it will be used against you later.

From what I gather so far, you're a bit rusty making rookie mistakes of overreacting to any form of pressure so easily. I would of easily shrugged off my vote on you if it wasn't for your reaction, but after seeing it coming again and again, it's staying until we get a claim. Because I have a feeling you slipped up.
