I've set up a sticky to try to organize this:

If anyone has any ideas about how best to organize and match up people, let's discuss here and not in that thread, which will be mostly for signups.

Well a few of our clan members were trying to do something similar to this a while back wicked. Our goal was to help new members and leave the ones with potential the option to join our clan so they could continue participating in future games with us or with our help.

For some reason which I am unsure of we couldn't get the mods to launch our forum so that was a no go...

In my honest opinion a good way to help players out is to first understand their strategy and try to see what they're most comfortable with. Figuring out what their strengths and weaknesses are. Turning them into you or trying to turn them into a clone of you is what we should avoid!

I think the best way to do that is to take a group of 6 players, which consist of 3 mentors and 3 mentorees and put them in a triples match. During the game the mentors would openly discuss possible strategies with the mentorees before the game starts. Basically it would be like playing a game of poker with being able to see everybodies cards. Every round or every other round can be handled the same way so they can see what other people are thinking and thus have a better idea on how the games are played out. I think if this was done enough times it would benifit new players a great deal.

I think a big part of this is just opening their eyes to how others see the game and how to look 4+ rounds ahead so they're not surprised when something obvious to maybe you and I happens to them...
