I remember seeing commercials for both of those, but never being interested enough to watch

Earliest favourite I can remember was
Pipkins (I thought Hartley Hare was adorable!).
Favourite animated series were
Chorlton and the Wheelies,
Battle Of the Planets/G-Force, and
Dangermouse
Favourite live action would have to be
The Red Hand Gang and of course....
MONKEY !

My favourite was Fraggle Rock -
He-Man was pretty good, though the only episode i remember was some lame christmas special. It's kinda funny. Two kids from earth somehow end up on He-Man's planet, conveniently around Christmas time, so they teach He-Man and She-Ra and all those guys all about Christmas.
Then at the end of the episode when Skelator and He-Man are about to battle it out the kids stop them and are like 'NO You cant fight, it's christmas!!'
and skelator is all 'what's christmas?'
then they tell him how its the day that our lord and saviour jesus was born blah blah blah
and then so He-Man is all 'so how about it skelator, it is christmas after all, and it only happens once a year'
and skelator agrees
AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN!!! THOSE STUPID CHRISTIAN XMAS LOVING KIDS STOPPED HE-MAN AND SKELATOR HAVING A BATTLE
WORSE EPISODE EVER

I can still remember the bit when the kids are explaining to Skeletor that people exchange gifts on Christmas Day. Here's a rough transcript I found of the conversation:
Crappy Xmas special wrote:Skeletor – Tell me more about this Christmas
Kid – It's a wonderful time of year, everyone has lots of fun
Skeletor – Fun? you mean they get lots of fights?
Kid – no, it's nice fun
Skeletor – Fights are nice, i like fights
Kids – And everyone gets gifts, lots of gifts
Skeletor – And when you open them, they explode?
The man was
evil, truly evil.

Stopper wrote:No question about it. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe! The original ones. The toys as well.
Here's a picture of He-Man sitting astride Battle-Cat. I had them both. I am also now just realising how shit and unoriginal the names for the various characters were.

(Actually, thinking about it, I think Battle-Cat may have belonged to my brother. Luckily though, I have always been bigger and stronger than my brother. Hooray!)
Yup, the original Masters ruled! Or so I thought when I was a kid. I got a bunch of them on divx recently and they have totaly lost their charm for me

(unlike those cartoons where Goofy's 'How to...' series, which ruled back then and still rules now.

).
Voltron and Saber Rider were real good too.

You kids have no idea how lame we had it back in the 70's.
I might.....
Brady Bunch was my favorite, later-- Happy Days and the Waltons.
I was not allowed to watch a lot of TV, though... and we did not get NBC (I only saw Shazaam when I went to friends houses).
As for Cartoons, I used to like Speed racer and the original Scooby Doo.

Captain Planet.. so fucking hot in that green mullet!
They need Chris Pine to play him in the live action movie.
