Introduction
The Diary of Brandon (Games NPC/Point of view character)
November 1st, 2008
Today is the day we head off, I have said my goodbys to friends and family, leaving them behind will be the hardest part... That and the hard winters im told antarctica has. I have decided to keep a journal day to day to give to my daughter when i return, hopefully when she is old enough to read and understand she will like it. There are 18 other passengers on the trip with me, most of them seem pretty cool, but living with these complete strangers for the next 6 months will be hard.

November 2nd, 2008
Its first dawn now, and we just arrived at the base. Of course down here when the sun rises and falls is totally off from what its like at home. Ill write more tomarrow, Its time to unpack

November 3rd, 2008
Just finished up with dinner, most of the guys are drinking right now, ive never been much of a drinker, so i wanted to come talk to you, Im missing home already, but the guys here are fun, we saw out the old team, most of them seemed warn down... though i guess we are going to look the same when we finish up. The Captain and leutenant are here too, they have to stay all year round so they have been here for six months already, no wonder they look so stiff.

November 10th, 2008
... and the storms are starting to pick up, blizzards are more frequent and more hazardus every day, making travel almost impossible, and at night with temperatures dipping below -40 without windchill, we arent allowed outside... God im so bored, they have VHS tapes here which have seen better days, some checkers and chess... but nothing to do, i thought a research team would do more... research! I just wish we had something to do

November 17th, 2008
I havnt written in a while, because nothing has happened, but today some crazy stuff went down! alright so we were just eating lunch like any other day, condensed soup, when we hear a chopper outside, keep in mind the weather we have been having, everyone rushed to the window to check it out. The captain yelled out it was a swiss chopper just before it started letting off rounds! but not at us, at this dog, a husky, running along the snowy field, the damn mutt ran straight into the bunch of us as the chopper landed with a wet slap of snow. and these two guys came rushing out, with machine guns! Needless to say i ducked behind a snow drift with everone else, its hard to say what happened next because i didnt see it, but there was gun fire, an explosion, and when i got up again the hellocopter was on fire, both men were dead, and our leutenant had a bullet through his leg! God i wished something exciting would have happened, but who woulda though it. I just wonder what made them go so crazy...

November 18th, 2008 [The following passage is stained with bloody fingerprints]
something... happened today... that dog... the one the swiss were chaseing, something happened... I--I dont know how to explain it, we were in the mess hall again, it was late watching TV, playing some poker, i had just won a big hand when we heard the dogs start barking, and not just barking, like... screaming is the only way i can explain it, before long everyone was on edge and we went to the kennels and... and... It wasnt human! that much im sure of, oh god the dogs... they were torn to pieces! when we opened the kennel two of them ran past us, but the rest... the rest... and in the corner of the cage it was this thing... I couldnt help but think it looked like the old anime Akira, when his body went crazy at the end but, my god the smell, rotten flesh and blood everywhare! we burned the damn thing, killed it good, but once we did we saw one of the mangled dogs start to get up and... change, just like the thing was... 'the thing' thats the only way i can describe it, we burned all the dog bodies just to be safe, the doctor and captain are working around the clock on the body but... god im scared... im going to try and sleep now...

1) This first day we have NO vote, all other days will have a vote except for this one, all that is required is that all players post in some fashion to show that they have seen that we are starting, night will play as a normal night and Day 2 will be the first playable day. So technically the game starts on a night
2) All Day/Night posts will be written from the PoV(point of view) of Brandon, an NPC who CANNOT be voted for, and CANNOT be killed, nor will he ever take any part in discussion or anything, he is merely a plot device i am useing to convey the story

Day 1
He awoke in a cold sweat, the horrors of the night before weighing deeply in his mind, It was still dark outside but that could mean anything, but his sleepless night tells him that its still early. Brandon shammbles from bed and dresses before making his way to the chow hall to find that most of the other researchers are already there, and everyone was silent. The young reseracher pulled out an apple and sat down, but he couldnt find the will to eat, not after what he saw...

Everyone else seemed just as shaken as he was, and this day above all others was the most quite it had been... or ever would be again.

Night 1
That night was even harder then the night before, Brandon tried his best to sleep, but the atmosphere had somehow cast a more horrific feal then the creature itself. Earlier in the day all the members of the team (save 1) were present, Fircoal had stayed in the brig, sick to his stomach, though everyone else had the same sickening feeling. The Night was quiet, far too quiet for the young mans tastes, normally the night life would be alive with laughter and game play, but tonight only still and darkness remained. After only a brief stint of sleep lasting only an hour he awoke to what could only be heard of as the sounds of a struggle coming from down the hall. Was he just imagining it? he must have and closed his eyes once more. Then a short gasp and the new researcher sprung to his feet and ran down the hall just in time to see a vegue shadow sail down the long steel pathway and duck out of site. It was far to dark to see who or what it was, nor to see from whare it came... but one thing was certain, brandon would spend the rest of the night with the door locked, and his lights on.
