I'm sorry, but in that picture, he definitely does not look like he is standing. More like being held up. Obviously he didn't have the will to live anymore.
On the contrary, His will was to die....... for you.
Didn't ask him for it.
True enough, though it's not necessarily relevant.

I'm sorry, but I vote to disqualify this one. He's obviously being up there, you can see even the ropes for Christ's sake.
He's not still standing, It says right here, he gave up the ghost.

Still standing - still out in the open - still unbowed to the denizens of discontent hiding in dark places spiting out venom at passerbys

Made a cookie, was overcome by passion, ate it, but still standing.

This thread needs less pathos, more lulz.

Whatever it was, clearly it was the epitome of architecture at its time (assming of course, it was built by Greeks).

I don't think that is still standing. I believe that it was all down and someone erected it again. Does that count?
More like a phoenix reborn than still standing.

It isn't the Temple of Zeus, as that is situated in the middle of Athens, and there is about a total of 6 columns still standing from 140 or something =D
It looks like a market place, possibly Roman (or Greek, either one)

Hmmm, this is Aphrodisias, guess not...
http://www.turizm.net/photogallery/aphrodisias/aphrodisias19.htmlI do agree, it's not really standing as such...
