The banana must be the most popular fruit. I don't see apples getting this type of attention. I can understand why girls prefer bananas over apples but why guys?

Andy has been posting in this thread for a long time. In fact, of the mods and admins (past and present) except for an exception or two, he was always pretty active in this forum, more so since he gave up being an admin.

Andy, you should post more updates of your Crusader Kings game. It's fun reading about it.

Thanks to your posts, I picked up the original Crusader Kings (unfortunately, my laptop won't run #2). Very fun game.

In one of the games, I tried starting as the Duke of Moray, being a vassal to the King of Scotland. I ended up declaring independence after taking the County of Caithness and the Duchy of The Western Isles. Then, to build up strength, I went to Ireland and eventually was able to take it over and declare myself King of Ireland. By that time, I was on my second ruler. When my third ruler came about, I gathered all my troops and launched an attack on the Kingdom of Scotland, finally uniting the Irish and Scottish thrones.

England had been busy crusading in the Holy Land, and so had not yet conquered Wales. So, I went ahead and took it, making myself King of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Once my fourth ruler began his reign, I decided to take England. It took me a few wars to make it happen, and by the end of it my reputation was something along the lines of "You are hated by the entire world," and my vassals were declaring independence left and right. But hey, small price to pay for basically forming the United Kingdom in the 12th century. I grew bored with that and started some more games.

Very addictive.

Dukasaur is a huge fan of Crusader Kings. I prefer Hearts of Iron.

I'll do that perhaps then tomorrow. I've got two games going right now, the Scotland game I started with, and the "Zirid Empire" where I am the Sultan of Africa and building up an Islamic North African empire between the Fatmid's in Egypt (strong), and a neighbor to my west who is about the same strength as me.

In the second game, I've made it a point to have all my rulers enjoy going on Jihad, so whenever there is a Holy War in the Mediterranean area, you'll see some of my troops there. Also, the Republic of Pisa is pretty much my arch enemy, since we both kind of want the same sphere of influence. Since they are a Christian nation, I have to be careful going to war with them, especially since Rome is literally just across the sea from me. And the Kingdom of Sicily is also starting to be hostile, since I am beginning to press some fabricate claims on counties within their Island.
