A battle through adversity, Wisconsin was unable to beat the #3 seeded team and bring out the underdog win. The officialling was obviously skewed and the major home court advantage seems to be what decided the game. Its a sad story of a day for the badgers fan's. Crowds shout and form a mob outside the stadium, demanding that the referees from the game be banned from officialling another event... not surprisingly St. John's fans, joined the chants. The reffing was awful.
GG to JJ and his badgers, they fought hard but dice were just WRONG...

First Four boxes are up, along with South Region 2nd round scores...yellow highlight bars mark maps that are still active...if all lines are white, then the score is final.
Closest battle so far had Brown edging Temple by a single point in one of the First Four matchups.

brackets and boxes updated...we have our first major upset with #13 seed Purdue taking down #4 Air Force 94-66 in the East bracket. Does coach Annexator have another run to the Final Four in him?

Not sure how I feel about that one. It's on the other side of the East bracket from me, so while it removes a powerful Air Force team, it also makes and even more powerful Princeton squad's road to the final 4 easier.

Purdue could be dangerous...reached the finals last season...a sleeper #13 seed perhaps.

It should be noted that I am wwwaaaayyyy ahead of myself in even thinking about that. Kansas State is giving me a run for my money in the first round. I even drew my home map on random. Given how close this one's going to be, I think that I'll either be reporting that it made the difference in winning the series or that even that advantage wasn't enough.

NASHVILLE, TN
You could see the nervousness of Toledo Rocket's coach Agentcom, as he was heading into the locker room for the halftime intermission. "Kansas State is giving us a run for our money," he said to CBS reporter Leslie Visser as his team passed by. The Rockets had nothing to worry about, though, turning in a strong performance in the second half and sealing an 89-66 victory in over the Kansas State Wildcats.
After the game the coach was all smiles as reporters asked him about his halftime comments. "Yeah, I guess I can get pretty nervous sometimes, but hey, that's what the Dance will do to you." No doubt some of the nervousness was fueled by the Rocket's star player only scoring seven points. The slack was picked up by the rest of the team with three players scoring in double digits and the bench combining for 21 points. "That's just how our team is," agentcom said, "We know not every player is gonna shine in every game. But it's a team effort, and the other players are going to pick up the slack."
The Rockets' next game will also be at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. They will face the winner of Gonzaga v. Boise State. The #11 Bulldogs have the game knotted up at 56 against the favored #6 Broncos as this article goes to press.

just finished my serie against #1 illinois...
i don't think the miracle hoped by the bears happened. They fought well but that wasn't enough, too many things went wrong from the starts. bad preparation due to a late arrival at the stadium, hostile fans (this poker club is just unplayable for me) and almost all kick off given by the opposite team.
Add to that a very good team led by a strong coach that never let us a chance for a come back. They are not #1 just thanks to luck. Good luck to him in the next rounds.
I'm not sure my record will be enough to secure my position as a head coach with the bears, but i'll take it again next year with the same motivation and even more ambition. And playing in the Ivy league is tough but you can be sure you'll get good games to play so...
cheers to you flex for organising such a thing and to you all for playing !
and for this year, go Ivy !!

Mississippi State has been bounced out of the tournament by Houston. Couch Dub reported some fatigue with his players but noted that in general Coach Sportsdog24 had the better team.
Good luck to all those left and thanks to Flex for organizing the only 1vs1 tourney I enjoy even when I lose.

Still 3 games left in the Bowling Green v. Maryland 2nd round showdown; however, doing the math, if Maryland wins all 3 of them this round or the next, which I'm sure he will, the final score will be close but Bowling Green will still pull away the victors.

Flex, I *think* the fat lady is warming up off stage in Princeton's first round match such that you might be able to start the next round with Cincinnati to keep things moving. See what you think.
edit ... it is def over now ...
