Both my parents and my brother sent me a birthday card, which is nice, but they both chose ones with a "Star Wars" theme. Have they met me?

My mom was brutal at things like that. Often she would mix my brother and me up in stories or thinking we liked the same things. It's best if you can laugh about it.

I think the real question is: how many times is someone going to mis-spell "Walken" in this thread.

Well, all the gold in California is in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills, in somebody else's name.

Hey, I had legit reasons. And frankly, missing it by one letter is probably better than what I thought it would be.

Meh. I get called by my cousins' and uncles' names all the time.

Plus, it can be kind of lonely at times as a single child.

Nah, not that.

She would buy strange things as gifts and be super excited. Like buying me a microscope so I could check out the stars. That actually turned out to be great, just not for what she was expecting.

I wanted a telescope too. My Mum took me to a shop and an assistant brought out a microscope. Another assistant said "No, that's not what they want.". The first assistant wanted to know what the difference was, and the second one came out with a brilliant definition. "A telescope you look UP. A microscope you look DOWN."

This might explain a lot about my mom. She was reasonably bright but sort of gullible in an innocent way. She would just believe people when they were selling something.

So we've beenlooking at where to move to next. Current favourites are Davis and Benicia, and possibly Brentwood. (all in CA).

I recommend Lake Tahoe.

I've been there and I like it, but it's a bit remote . Also, the best thing about leaving NJ was leaving the snow behind.

Me, I like remote and cold. But that could also be from growing up in Wyoming. Had snow just yesterday even.
