That would depend if you mean actual hip hop, or if you're talking about them being current.

I don't know why I'm feeding the troll.

I wouldn't waste your energy. I just completely ignore him now.

To be fair, you ignore me because the mods specifically warned you to stop trolling me. Just saying. I can provide links if you want, but I think we're done here.

Not really. Semp said to stop it in one thread. I've ignored you for the most part much longer than that.

Hip and Hop an' Poetry

Yup, hip hop is dying
Just tribute left
Holding on to the beat
Of a dying heart

I saw a robot sing hip hop today
Mechanical
Autotuned, perhaps

And a troll crying troll
For some dying art
As if there's something new
In repeating of charts.

Hey, at least I was being a bit original, unlike some people or genres in this thread.

Just saying.

Telling someone to "go away" is neither honest or dishonest, jack. We disagree in our tastes in music and our opinions on a particular dying genre. If you wanted everyone to agree with your opinions in the thread, maybe find a nostalgic fan site dedicated to remembering hip-hop music and start a thread there. I think you will be unlikely to find people who don't agree with you.

You should go back to ignoring me though- it's nicer when everyone agrees with you. Less interesting, obviously, but there is a kind of bliss in ignoring contradictory ideas.

no mate. symm, you're actually really annoying, maybe you haven't realized that yet. its not that you disagree with me on a subject(espc music of all things) i love diverse music, but you're just an annoying person that id rather not have ruin a thread, pretty much predominately lead by music links, to you being a fucking tit.

Real talk . I'm a hip hop nut. Been listening hardcore since 91' but would hear it as a kid before that like any other genre. I really appreciate underground though. I thought mainstream was ridiculously controlled before but now days everything is so commercialized. This is for those who really know the underground movement of rap. Not dissing the new shit. I just know what time it is.

Look, there's no reason to make this a personal thing, and on the whole, I think I've resisted doing that. I would ask that you do the same. Maybe this can be a space for us to actually talk about our differing opinions. Some people think it's alive and well, others think it's dying, and still others think that the over-commercialisation means that it's still lively in the underground scene while dying in the mainstream.

Sometimes people disagree. Disagreement does not ruin a thread. It's what brings threads alive sometimes. Take the commercialisation of hip-hop, as an example. Competition between artists helped it thrive back in the day, before it was dying. It helped foster creativity and originality.

So here's the thing, I'm reaching out a hand to you- let's be civil here, and not have anymore flame posts, ok?
