There are three distinct sounds.
BOOM: The explosion in the chamber of the rifle and the bullet leaving the muzzle.
WHACK: As a slug passes you by it makes a small 'sonic boom' that really stings the ear. Similar to the cracking of a bullwhip.
THUMP: The sound of the round penetrating something beyond you.
If you only hear the first two sounds check yourself for holes.
You can gage the distance between you and the sniper from the time interval between the 'boom' and the 'whack'. However, if the sniper is close and has a supersonic round the 'whack' can come before the 'boom'.
Fantasticaly useful information ... I must tell the wife, she was about to pop out to the corner shop for a tin of beans

Whenever i sign up for a site i might think is dodgy, i use my real name just in case one day i come back and have forgotten my username. On sites i frequent alot i use "Ghoongta" what does that mean, dont know, its in the lyrics of some song. I should really change my username to ghoongta but i dont know how and i dont want to lose my ranking by creating a new account.
Enough taking the michael

Jay is what my friends and relatives call me (although its not my name).
A2J is a song by Carmen and it stands for Addicted 2 Jesus. Put them together and whala! you get jay_a2j.

in japanese, baka is kind of the same as calling someone stupid.
eg: anata wa baka
"you are stupid"
thus, baka 1....the stupid one.

I love Greek history and Mythology and also find Greece's Vista of the Mediteranian an incredibly beautiful place on Earth.
So the name Theosi lends itself to my Greecian interest.
But to keep my explanation of the name Theosi brief:
It is a derivative of a few different meanings that I do not want to bore anyone with and what it basically states is my quest for wisdom and truth without the false opinions of those not wishing to share in truth but rather in propaganda.
