johnnyrotten wrote:Seattle FC doesn't sound so bad. What is it with you Americans that means you need to give teams unnecessarily flash names? Saying that, this particular case is exempted as you want the retro-ness of Seattle Sounders.

Did the Sounders have any big names back in the day? You know, like Pele, Beckenbauer, Neeskens etc etc etc.

They didn't have big names but they managed to compete as one of the top teams.

It's just that there are too many names the are just FC. Toronto FC. FC Dallas. Soon to be a FC Philadelphia. I mean they don't even have nicknames (FC Dallas is the Hoops which I've heard before from a much better club in Europe). In MLS the team names have something to do with the city ('cept NY) and not just random names like other games. And if Seattle FC gets voted, people will still call them the sounders anyway.

The match on your sig RBN is really good. Beckham seem to have done really good. I can't understand why Real Madrid sold him, he was the only one fighting when they were down.

By the sounds of things (FC) - America is gradually embracing the word football to mean soccer. This is good. =D> =D> =D> =D>

After the first day of voting:

No on Atletico Seattle. No on Sporting Club Seattle. No on Partizan Seattle. No on Seattle Wednesday, Seattle Rovers or Seattle Juniors. The list of submitted names has been winnowed, but there still remain many options.

I've always wondered, seeing as they now have 35,000 owners, would that mean all of them could get into the ground for free?
