Kissing on the first date?

First off, let me say that I'm speaking from a heterosexual male perspective. If you aren't a heterosexual male, you're still free to give your input, but that's the only perspective I can speak from. Frankly it's the one I'm most interested in too as it applies to ME.

I've found that for me personally, it's much better to kiss on the first date. There have been a couple instances in my youth where I thought that everything had went well but I wussed out at the end and couldn't kiss the girl and didn't get a second date. On the other hand, in every case where I went for it I always got what I wanted, even if it happened a little bit later.

Now I'm not saying to lunge at the girl when she doesn't seem receptive, and I'm not saying it's a good idea to try to get into a heavy makeout session on the first date either (unless you take her to see a movie 8-) ) but I think there are a number of reasons why it's a good idea to man up early.

Anyhow, I'm curious.. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Only kissing on the first date? That's pretty tame nowadays.

I say go for it, what have you got to lose really? If it goes further then your bound to get a second date, and as long as the kiss isn't an attack on their face it can't go horribly wrong.

Some show of affection is called for. Even if it's a kiss on the cheek.
This lets them know that you enjoyed their company, and are open about seeing them again.

If you do nothing, you send the message that you would have rather spent the time watching T.V. and regret the evening. Women are attracted to self confidence, and the worst thing that can happen is a bit of rejection.

All good comments so far..

@ Rockets: I think you really hit the nail on the head. A kiss on the cheek may work, but I usually go for a light one on the lips.. No tongue or anything.. Just enough to show appreciation.

I think doing this shows girls/women a number of things. First off it reflects confidence, which they apparently really like. It also shows them that they aren't going to have to lead you to where you need to be.
Women like when men know what they're doing. Unless they think you're really cute or something, they probably aren't going to enjoy playing teacher.

So if you want to play doctor...

It depends on the girl really.

And if she asks "what the Hell was that?", just tell her your whole family was going to be murdered if you didn't.

If you don't whip your dick out two hours into the date you might as well not bother. Women like a man with confidence.

I think it's disgusting that Dave's necrophilia is spilling into my otherwise wholesome sex thread..

Quite a while, but at least she doesn't steal my popcorn during those 'heavy makeout sessions at the movies'

I find that the sandwich-making abilities of a woman decrease substantially when they pass away. By "sandwich-making" I mean the act of creating a sandwich, not providing the nutrients within the sandwich itself. Otherwise it would be the other way around.

------GO FOR IT, but trust me, guys, I've been there, and the worst thing is when they have no face, but trust me--Trust me fellas--there's plenty of other places to kiss, and they never seem to mind! It's a good life, working in the morgue, getting laid--well doing the laying--every day. Corpses can be a bit too passive for my taste, but hey, when in the morgue...

If you dont take the pink down on the first night, you at least have to try. If you don't, you are going to be waiting....and waiting.....

Women will give it up so long as the date goes well, you make her laugh, and you let her know with one aggressive move that either it is or is not going to happen tonight, but you let her know you are ready and willing for tonight. thats the moment where she chooses. She wants to have sex just as much, I guarantee it.

Basically, if she knows you will wait, she will always make you wait. you surrunder your right to sex on your terms, and have already pre-emptively transferred those rights to her. sex, only when she says so.

Next first time after shes your girlfriend and she tries to say "oh, not tonight honey"....thats when you put it in her butt. wut wut?
