question about 5 max spoils

If I by eliminating a player my spoils count goes up to five, and then I end my turn and receive a sixth spoil for a conquest, would I be forced to trade in after I've already ended my turn? or at the beginning of my next turn?

Just curious cause I'm new and this might happen in the game I'm currently playing. Would be helpful for my strategy to know.

Once your spoil count hits 5 or more during a turn, you'd be forced to trade in your spoils. Immediately after you eliminate a player (and advance your armies(or not)), the spoil trade in box would appear. I hope this makes sense! Welcome to CC!!

I have 4 cards (non matched) and can kill a player that has 2 cards. So if I kill the player and have 6 total cards (in the attack phase of my turn), I'll be forced to trade in 3 immediately. As I read your answer above.

BUT..... Will I be able to place those spoils troops (including the bonus ones for territories I own) immediately on that current turn? Or do the spoils troops have to wait until the next round?

This has an immediate bearing on my current game.

Yes, you will get to place them immediately.

oh, that's very interesting. It's a freestyle game too, which I don't think I'm a fan of, but I'm going to do my damnedest to take advantage of. thanks for the help!

And you can even trade in 2 or 3 sets at the same time, if your card colors allow that (so for example, if you have 3 red and 3 blue cards you can trade in 2 sets and place that armies directly to use for your further attacks).

My personal record is 9 sets cashed in one turn.
