So has anyone here actually been to one?
There's a couple people that I think may have, but I'd like to hear it from you..
Anyone have stories to tell?

I've never been to one, but here is what you need to know:
A bunch of people get together and have sex in a group-like setting.

I was talking about the dance stile
Since we're on the topic of swingers now, let's talk about that instead...
So who's got stories?

I sure have!
There were a whole lot of us and we were swapping partners like no tomorrow, unfortunately like all good things it came to an end when the park closed at 10.

I'm sure AoG's hung around a lot of rest stops if you count that.

Saxitoxin claims to be a swinger.. Is he for real?
As for the rest of you, what do you think of this kind of behavior, OK, or not OK? Perhaps even to be condemned..
Is it anyone else's business what people are doing in privacy? Does the spread of disease justify public scorn??
Certainly someone must have an opinion...

I don't engage in it and I don't condemn anybody's right to make that personal decision for themselves.

I have several opinions.
1. Saxitoxin,
the Internet character, is a swinger.
2. I find it amusing that you believe in saxitoxin, the Internet character.
3. I find the idea of being a sexual libertine quite cool, however I would not personally want to engage in all of their activities.
4. As a corollary, I do not believe it justifies public scorn. If you're worried about disease, don't sleep with people until you know they don't have anything, and use protection. Otherwise, it's an inherent risk.
5. I find it highly unlikely that any living human who might post here is truly a sexual libertine.

In my opinion its perfectly fine, might not be for me but if someone wants to go for it. It really isn't anybodies business. Also it is everyones personal responsibility to practice safe sex, I suspect people in swing groups are actually particularly careful as someone passing something around would likely be excluded.

Just about everything about sex is inherently unsafe..

If you believe that then you must also believe that STDs are a thing of the past.

Don't see why you would say that, two partners without any disease can engage in perfectly safe sex without protection (they risk pregnancy of course).
ViperOverLord wrote: If you believe that then you must also believe that STDs are a thing of the past.
No because that would be stupid, and if you could actually engage in reading comprehension, you would see that I specifically mention safe sex, meaning protection. Furthermore if everyone involved is clean there is no risk of infection.

Pregnancy is dangerous and can lead to death or the creation if new people. People, like sex, are inherently dangerous.
Putting aside the facts that people rarely get tested prior to sex with their partners and that the tests can result in false negatives, if your partner swings behind your back and brings something home,
SURPRISE!!
Angry fathers, ex boyfriends, etc. can also be hazardous to your health.
Anyhow, about those swing parties...

Out of interest, was the purpose of this thread essentially to ask "have you ever been to a swing party", so that you could then presume to sit in haughty moral judgement on anybody who replied in the affirmative?

I'm curious as to how you come to either (or both) of these conclusions.

So what's with the tone of haughty moral judgement?

(1) Go to hell, InkLoSED! Ol' Saxi will
not be sticking up for you in the forums anymore.

Gabby knows I'm telling the truth, he and I are friends on an adult social networking site and he's seen all the fine honeys with whom I'm friends.
(2) As for safety - it depends. Yes, I am a swinger but I'm a
hoster these days. My active participation in that scene is long gone as I've repeatedly noted. That's a game for a young man in his 40's or 50's. However, when I host I insist everyone be
SAFE and
SANE. Though, it's perhaps a little idealistic to think everyone runs their parties as efficiently as ol' Sax. I have a professional background in public hygiene, after all.
(3) This is not a scene for everyone and is not appropriate for just a "drop in" or "let's try it out." This is a
lifestyle and needs to be approached
seriously and with contemplation, weighing the benefits and rewards.

I heard saxitoxin doesn't engage in these parties anymore due to severe anal stitching.
