Last night I won a game on the very 1st go, 3 players, I started. Mission was "conquer 18 territories with at least 2 armies on each", started with 14 terri's, completed mission by taking 4 more (with 2 on each, natch) and left the other 2 players feeling somehow cheated as they didn't even get a turn!
Quickest game ever? :D

Yeah, I've never used those cards because they're dumb. Definitely not proper risk.

I won an actual game after 5 hours. Four players, and has remained the only time I've ever finished a full game.

Last time I played on a real board, it took over 13 hours, and even then, one of the guys gave up, making the remaining 2 not take long at all.

Risk was invented at conquerclub.com.

Risk board is only good if you are trapped indoors in Canada's winter.

I don't remember anything quick at all about any live game of Risk...ever. Even two player. I remember all-nighters.

The games my friends and I would play normally would last just a few hours or even less. We were notorious for ending when someone was obviously going to win though. It also depends on what your house rules were.

I finished one in 30 minutes one time. I will say the dice helped...

I've been told (and I might even agree) a better game is a card game known as "The Nacho Incident." Warning, you might find yourself looking over your shoulder any time you order a taco just in case a Mountie is nearby setting up a sting operation for taco smugglers.

And if you are really getting cabin fever, there is an Italian Western card game called "BANG." Really, you basically go about "BANG" ing your friends and your wounds are healed by drinking beer. (It really is an Italian Western ... the original game was written in Italian.)
