What did we spend on in 2010 that could have possibly matched the 2009 deficit (stimulus bill)

I voted "change direction." We need a much larger stimulus bill than the one we got, and it's unfortunate that Obama isn't pushing for that.

um, yeah I need more.

First, we need to agree that we both understand how much a trillion dollars is. It took about 5-7 years of a much higher escalated war to hit the trillion dollar mark as far as Iraq-Afghanistan are concerned. We spend far more in 129 other countries on our troops and bases.

The BP clean-up, with the 20 billion dollar fund (BP is on the line for it). 20 billion represents 1/50th of a trillion dollars.

Those are things we did spend a lot of money on, but even after those, going with the most liberal estiamtes, there is still 1.2 trillion more to account for.

If Obama cared as deeply about this country as he claims to he would wait until after the election, fire Biden, and resign immediately.

Watched the first 1:56. 2 points:

1. That young man is well spoken. He probably gave too much stuff for Obama to forget/ignore during his 'unpack(ing) process.'

2. Obama claimed 4 million jobs lost before going into the WH. Then he claimed 750k then 650k then 600k (in his first 3 months). 'So there were 8 million jobs lost before his 100th day in office.' I'm not sure how that adds up to 8 million jobs lost.

Its liberal government math...you can add and or subtract any number to get to what you want it to be.

why don't you carry that back a few decades.. like to 1980?

AND, why don't you compare that to the standards of living increases for average people AND the wealthy. Oh, and for "kicks", add in the number of cuts that have resulted in pushing off necessary payments, things like putting social security into the general fund, things like not repairing roads and other infrastructure. Things like cutting education funding, etc. ALSO, look into the cuts for natural resource research and the changes in how medical research is funded (where the money is allocated, etc.). Plus, look into cuts for enforcement of natural resource rules.. cuts and failure to increase despite HUGE increases in workloads.

You can show whatever you want by narrowing the focus.

Funny, the conservatives have been bent on shifting figures for the past 4 decades.

Note that when liberals talk, they either talk about the immediate -- since Obama came into office OR the long past.. decades. Oh, yes, and some of those "liberals" are actually folks past conservatives.

Conservative, nay, make that right wingers who have pretended to be conservative, bounce all over the place, depending on what they want to show.

It's a lot like when my son "cannot understand" instructions to do his chores or homework, but has absolutely no trouble figuring out every last detail of his computer games.
