GPA: 3.51
Major GPA: 3.67
GRE: 650/590/5.5 (1240 total)
Research: 5 research positions, totaling 2 years experience. Under 4 different professors and the city of Seattle.

Job history: Held several jobs, including a 1.4 year long job at a community college, volunteer work running several events/for campaigns. Currently work for Cheezburger Network

Alma mater: Graduated from the University of Washington with a BA double-majoring in Political Science and Law, Societies, and Justice with a minor in International Studies.

Other awards: Student of the month for the greater Bothell (near Seattle) in 2007. Deans list Fall/Winter 2009-2010

Teaching experience: Was a speech/debate coach and dance instructor for awhile.

Publications: I am listed as a researcher and under thanks on a publication I did heavy research for that was released by the Seattle city council.

I have enough reach schools, several schools which are right "in my range." but I feel I am short on safety schools. I am trying to get my PhD in poli sci, with a focus on international relations or comparative politics. Any ideas?

Check out the University of North Texas.
Great location, low cost of living, excellent poli-sci department and I'm 100% certain they'd take you.

You don't have a Masters but are going for a PhD???? Don't you have to get a Master's first?

Maybe he meant that getting the PhD was his eventual goal?

You do not need a master's degree to pursue a PhD at most universities, particularly the good ones.
